    FFL/gunsmith audit compliance question

thanks, lots of good info. just curious, did they ever reverify any customer info (e.g. rechecking NCIS, or 4473 info) during audits? or are they just checking that all your current data matches? seems like paper would be nice to start out with since it's nice and simple, and that these run...

    FFL/gunsmith audit compliance question

Thanks for the suggestion bill. When you've been audited, is the ATF just checking that the books match? Do they ever collect any info or look into customer info?

Thanks Garrobo, good info. Now, if you you wanted to also buy/sell (hold inventory), then I suppose electronic would make sense right?

    FFL/gunsmith audit compliance question

Been looking into gunsmithing and opening an FFL, and read that you have to maintain a log of ingoing/released firearms for the sake of annual ATF audits. To make sure I understand the details correctly, I figured I'd toss over some general questions to guys who've been in the industry for a...

    C&R audit questions

I'm thinking of getting an 03 FFL. I read that they are allowed 1 audit per year, and I'm curious if they are just checking to make sure your buy/sales records match your collection or if they are also running background checks on your buyers. Has anyone been audited here? The idea of...

what do you guys think of this k31?

http://s48.photobucket.com/albums/f208/mipik/K31/ Seller is askin 225. numbers match, perfect bore and crown. Now for k31 shooters here, how do the sights match with gp11 at 100 yards? Dead on, or hold high?

parkerizing is pretty soft so it did get scratched off. from what the naked eye can see no damage was done to the crown.

what would you do in this situation (store employee related)?

i went to get some scope rings today and the employee at the counter offered to boresight. well, after boresighting i noticed that there are two scratches by the crown (the crown itself is undamaged, but some parkerizing was scratched off the front of the barrel near the crown). this is most...

How can a cleaning rod damage the crown if it isn't steel?

Ok, the thing is I have an M39 and the cleaning from the breech comes short about 4" from the barrel. How would I reach the end of the bore so I can clean out all the surplus ammo nastiness? This last shooting trip I made 2 runs through the barrel end going towards the breech cuz the Tipton rod...

How can a cleaning rod damage the crown if it isn't steel?

Using a Tipton carbon fiber rod with bronze patchholder at the tip, I don't quite understand how cleaning from the barrel end could damage the crown since both of these materials are softer than steel. Could someone help explain this to me?

CDNN FN Patrol Rifle XP - Poll

Are the Hogue stocks no good? I found one for my Winchester Black Shadow .270 for $100 total and it says that it is pillar aluminum bedded, which is certainly better than the factory stock. There's also a full-length aluminum bedded stock for 158.
