Pocket Carry - The 21 foot "test" everyone should take

Don't know which pocket holsters you may have tried but I have had good luck - and fairly quick, clean draws with my 642 - using a cheap Uncle Mike's for pants pockets and a Mika for the lower pockets of cargo pants or shorts. The gun stays in the Mika holster very well in the pocket but comes...

Have you ever bought a gun online?

I have bought online from Gallery of Guns and Shooters of Jacksonville. The best deals and quickest shipment have been the ones I bought at "Shooters" (shootersjax.com); couldn't have been happier with those purchases.

New to CCW, looking for opinions/advice

You said, "Its so weird, one day i want this, then that, then the other....GRRRR." I'm sure I can speak for practically everyone on the forum when I say that we have all been there. I started out about a year and a half ago to replace a like new S&W Model 13 .357 revolver (which I wish I...

New to CCW, looking for opinions/advice

My primary carry is an M&P 9c but I often switch to a 642 - either in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster or a Don Hume H715 IWB. No matter which rig I use when I carry the 642, it's so light and comfortable that I practically forget it's there. Depending on what type of jeans you wear, pocket...

    642 Club Part Deux

gordy Great idea for homeade snap caps. I'll bring a few cases home with me the next time I take my 642 to the range. Question: Would this type of do-it-yourself snap cap also work with .22LR rimfire ammo?

What guns have you traded/sold off for other guns?

After I bought a M&P 9 full-size, I decided I also wanted the compact version. Sold a S&W Model 13 .357 magnum that I had bought new in 1980 or '81 that I had fired only about 40 times. Love the 9c but wish I hadn't sold the .357. On the bright side, I sold it to my son-in-law so I can see it...

    J-frame concealed carry questions

(For myusername01 - or anyone else who knows the answer.) Is the mouth of the Don Hume 715 reinforced enough to enable easy reholstering? I bought an inexpensive Kirkpatrick Leather holster for my 642 and it's all but impossible to reholster without dropping your pants.

    Crimson Trace Poll

Bought a 642 with CT grips. The laser is okay, but I would be just as happy without it.

    The guns from your state!

Isn't S&W still in Massachusetts??? I thought they were, although I wish they'd move their operation to Texas!

    What holster do you use?

Sounds like you don't want an IWB, but Crossbreed SuperTuck works for me and my M&P 9c.

    642 Club Part Deux

Early Santa for DAdams Looks like Early Santa was good to you, DAdams. Thanks to you for recommending ammunitiontogo.com for the Speer Gold Dot 135 gr +P ammo. I checked in with them periodically and finally caught them a couple of weeks ago with some in stock. I noticed in the pictures...

    642 Club Part Deux

Hey, Grease Monkey, which Galco are you using with your 642? I have been trying to make a holster decision for some time now. So far, I only carry mine in an Uncle Mike's pocket holster but am researching and trying to decide on the best IWB for the 4 to 5 o'clock position. I would appreciate...

    R Grizzle Holsters

Anyone out there familiar with R Grizzle IWB holsters? I'm particulary interested in either a "Southern Sidekick" or a "Southern Man" model and would be using it to carry a S&W 642 .38.

How long did it take to process your CCW application?

Texas Backlog Eases The backlog of applications in Texas has eased off. I received my CHL last week. It took less than 80 days from classroom to plastic in hand. The fee is halved ($70) if you have served in the military or are a senior citizen.
