    Optics set up for AR-15

Guess I tend to do things a little on the less expensive path. I have had a $79 Bushnell 1x4 Circle Plex on my flattop for several years. It does what it is supposed to do - clear, crisp optics and holds zero. It is a true 1X. The FOV is plenty large. I recently changed powders so I had to...

    O/U Recoil vs Rem 1100

I have seriously looked at the Condor. It actually fits me better than the other two I mentioned.

    O/U Recoil vs Rem 1100

I tried the Search function but come not find any answers. How much difference in felt recoil is there between a O/U vs a "gas" gun? I have been thinking about an O/U for dove. No particular reason other than I have always wanted one. My typical dove load is 1 1/8 - 1 1/4 oz of shot at 1200...

    Need a Remmy 1100 20" IC barrel

I have shot a 26" barrel for years. Don't go too short or the balance will get off.

    Remington Model 11 (pre WWII)

I too have a Model 11 along with 3 11-48s. I ordered a couple of parts for it several years ago from seems like Numrich.

    Whats your Favorite "Dove Gun"?

Rem. 1100 with 26" barrel. Favorite shell - 3 dram with 1 1/4 oz of 7 1/2 shot. Shoots very soft. BTW if you are not getting your limit with one box of shells then you are just "sky busting". I get a good chuckle when I see folks shooting at doves 60 yds away.

Price of Lead Is Under .80 per lb.

The price of lead is now under .80 per lb. This is over a $1.00 per lb lower than it's high. Lead inventories continue to climb. It is time to start putting pressure on the bullet manufacturers to start dropping their prices. If we don't nothing will happen.

Which 45 ACP bullet and load for USPSA

I like the 200 gr SWC, others like the 230 gr RN. Clays is the most popular powder. 3.8 gr with the 200 gr bullet makes Major in my Kimber and G21SF.

What's The Actual Cost to Compete for a Day/Weekend?

It depends on whether I drive or fly the Jet Ranger.

    increase in bullet prices

The cost of lead is falling rapidly. Bullets should drop also.

    Can't pull the trigger!

Everyone gets Chicken Finger on occasion. You are trying for the perfect shot. Just let the gun move. You cannot hold it montionless. I have seen the best in the world get CF - Bonnie Harmon, Bill Blankenship and Hershel Anderson. I once saw Bill Blankenship set the gun down 3 times at the 50 yd...

    glock and lead bullets

Doc, the Glock manual says nothing about lead bullets. It says not to shoot reloads, just like every other gun manufacturer's manual. Guess I voided my warranty years ago. My old G35 had over 100,000 rounds through it when sold - not the first round of factory ammo went down the barrel.

    glock and lead bullets

I guess the oldest Glock myth is the lead bullet one. The second is the unsupported chamber, followed by firing out of battery. I have fired tens of thousands of lead bullets through stock barrel Glocks. It's just like anything else use a little common sense. The bullets I use are in the 18-20...

Good calibers and platforms for centerfire bullseye competition

One of the other posters was correct. There are very few good Bullseye gunsmiths. Back in the day I just shot .45 for both CF guns. When I made one of the Army teams I had to shoot "double ball" for the first year. I was never that good at Bullseye. Best I ever shot was a 2626. My average was in...
