Is a 3 or 3-1/2 necessary? I assume you have to shoot steel, I'll have to check the regs. What kind of range do you usually shoot for? Or whatever you can get when they show up? You don't think the camo gun is required with sufficient cover?

+1 on .38 I have to second jad here. I have a deep, fraternal love for my security six, but the only way I'd want to carry it around all day is in a Sam Browne. It does have a certain "crap your pants factor," though, so I keep it in the nightstand :D

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but are there areas in the national forests that are set up for trap shooting, or are they just spots that people have found to be good for it? I've really only done it at ranges in the past.
