No this is not 100% child proof. However a small child being able to pull the trigger of a loaded gun is very simple and it does happen. A small child being able to figure out how to press the release while pumping the shotgun back, then loading a shell into the chamber, then pumping it forward...

Pablo, Instead of the rail I went with a clamp that clamps around the mag tube and around the light. I specifically didn't get the pressure switch because I really don't like that option.
