I think you answered your question, GAP is more expensive and harder to come by. Plus .45 is not goin away, the GAP who knows. Go with .45 its a safe choice for the long haul.

Ive carried for a couple years now. Putting on my handgun has now become habit like putting on my socks, its part of the routine. Very seldom I run out for a quick errand and forget and I feel naked.

Get out and shoot as many as possible, find what YOU like not just whats fasionable or in style. Remember just because its costly doesnt make it right for you. In my mind handguns are like trucks, most run just as good as the other (Ford, Chevy, Dodge ) But you always have your die...

I do not know.... But again I see no need to mess with it. Mags are cheap and plentiful ( at the moment ) . Maybe I am just ignorant to the appeal of a PMAG, durability I would assume. I will ask around.
P.S. - My rifle is still running strong, Ive had a few 300-400...

5'10" 170 lbs. Carry a XD45 compact with 10 rnd daily, Uncle mikes IWB strongside. Comfortable, never a problem, its not too fat. I do agree the xtra lenghth of the 13 rnd mag doesnt help, if you like the XD look at a Compact.
