    336 in 35 Rem

the 35rem is an exelent cartridge, never used one in a 336, i got my uncles old remington 14 a couple years ago and it shoots great, the 35 will make a clean killat 200 yards with open sights, the only possible down side is ammo availibility if you dont reload, its never been as popular as the...

if you do want a 30-06, the savage 116 weather warrior has a model with a muzzle break if you dont mind ear plugs or the high report. ken

What's the holy grail of firearms?

1912 Savage Model 1899 in .22 savage hi-power, teddy rosevelts winchester 1895 .405WCF, my great grandfathers Ithica side by side 12ga (i dont have it yet and forget the model, but it was made on 12/7/1941, which was also his wedding day), and 1870's British black powder 2bore double rifle...

    Single Shot Rifles

"I have seen precious few centerfire target rifles that do that well. The fact of break action is irrelevant to accuracy." i disagree, in general terms, a bolt action should always be more accurate than a single shot, because the 2 piece stocks used on single shots arnt as ridgid as the one...

    Single Shot Rifles

dont know the current goin price, but the savage 219 in 30-30 sounds good for what you want, my buddy inherited one, and it shoots pretty well, in 1960 they sold new for $37.50, so i cant imagine they get much for them now, only possible downside is there is no way to attach a scope. ken

    Single Shot Rifles

if you can find them, the savage 219 in 30-30 would be good, never bought one, but my buddy inherited one from his grandfather, shoots good. i dont think there very expensive. in 1960 they sold new for $37.50 ken

This one right here is really puzzling.

i read the mall ninjas thing, biggest load of BS ive ever heard, if a mall security gaurd ever choked out my kid for shop lifting, i would put my foot so far up his ass he could chew my toe nails, but that was just hilarious, thanks for posting it ken

    Good day yesterday.

i agree, weatherby over winchester. the neck on the winchester is much to short for a magnum cartridge, and if you use bullets over 180 grs it goes into your powder space. but the 110gr sierra hp is very imusing on ground hogs ken

    Lee enfield vs garand

as was stated, the garand NEEDS the M2 load to function properly, in a shtf, it would be harder to find the a box of any old 303's, but a springfield or 1917 enfield would be good, 2nd easiest cartridge to find (after .22lr) and again, any 30-06 will work, i would go with a bolt gun ken
