260 remmy will make you very happy out to 600-750 yards. I have never had any problem finding good ammo for my 700. PS dont run out of ammo at the range beacuse it sucks when you try the 260. So much fun to shoot.

I usually go to my local rage with my 308 since I kinda want to eat up my ammo. When I get worked up with my groups I sometimes wish I had my 7mm with me then to get my mood back up.

Buy it since you can... 338 win should have prepared you to a point ( upper level recoil ) and you should notice respectable improvement on your groups at extended ranges.

What ranges are you considering your affective ranges? I'd agree ,however .223 would not be my pick as a deer load, with using 55gr within 100yrs... beyond that go with havier if you must.
