    38Super vs 45ACP?

I have three Kimber 38 supers and I would not swap one of them for a 45. I shoot CCI ammo and have never had a failure. There is a plus side to 38 supers...S&W 60-14 and 686's will shoot the 38 super ammo.

the FN Five Seven is it a good choice

Comparing apples to oranges: I have one PMR Keltec 22 mag and it is junk. The mag is a bitch to load. I have one HK 5.7 x 28 pistol and it is not much better. I do however have one AR 57 that is a tack driver. 50 round mag and all of the accessory rails. Kinda heavy though. If I could do it all...

    Finally, I got my Coonan

I to have four mags for my new Coonan. I'm going to try some 120 grain reloads to see if they cycle the slide. 158 grain has a good bit of recoil and I would like to reduce that recoil for target shooting. I'm wondering if anyone has come upon a leather holster for the Coonan???

    Getting too old to reload

Last year I got that dreaded virus "H1N1 type A'' virus. Sick was not the word for it, but I survived after many weeks of misery. During that time I stopped any reloading and let it rest for over a year. When I went back to reloading, I found that I was making one mistake after another. The...

    Finally, I got my Coonan

My shooting buddy got his Coonan 38/357 after waiting for months. When it arrived it was SS, not the black gun he wanted. He thought after waiting so long to get it he would just bite the bullet and shoot it. He grumbled often about it not being black and that he would order a new one in black...

    New AR on the scene...

Watching the outdoor channel and a new (to me) AR was announced. The Just Right Carbine in 9mm, 40 cal. and 45 Cal. I really liked the way it was set up. Right or left hand eject and right or left charging bolt. Then the Glock magazine was really thought out. Worth the effort to take a...

    School Me on Henry Rifles

Re: School me... Well, I have two Henry 22's and two Rossi 38/357's The Henry's are Perfect out of the box. The Rossi's, well no where near perfect and in need of slicking up to run smooth. The Rossi octagon is poorly made. The front sight is cleearly set to the right, and believe it or...

    Mini-14 v. AR-15

Re: Dave, I had an older version of the Mini-14 and here is what I found. I micked the barrel and found it had high and low places in it. I could not believe it was so uneven. I decided to accurize it. I removed the barrel and shaved the barrel to an even finish. I then made a alum. sleeve...

As predicted - local markets flooded with AR15s/etc.

I think the Ammo issue has slowed the AR sales. My buddy has 6 hanging on his shop wall and he has not had a bite on either one. His pistol cases are empty though. 22's are no where to be found. I bought mine for 3 Cents and have 15 K rounds. Saw a guy at the local gun show with 5 boxes of...

    Trimming the Feed Ramp?

RE; Clay_B I bought a new S&W 45acp and it would not feed hollow points. The round nosed bullets went into the chamber with ease. After firing the first time, the hollow point would jam and be lodged against the feed ramp. It took me about 30 minutes to file the slope on the feed ramp and...

Rifles in .357 and .44 magnum

Took My new Rossi out today... Took my new Rossi 92 357 to the range today. Right out of the box...just cleaned and oiled. First few rounds were out of the circle and high as I had to find the right place in the rear sight for the bead. Once I found the nich, got streadied up, all rounds...

RE: My question concerning the 357 lever action rifles

I'll follow your lead. Tha idea about a multi bin plastic parts box was helpful. I'm relieved of the thought that all the parts would suddenly jump out and I will surely follow Steve's DVD before I start. It think getting the spring package will help also. As to the orange pusher, maybe...

RE: My question concerning the 357 lever action rifles

BCRider, You got my attention.... I just got thru taking the Rossi out of the safe and working the lever several times. To tell you the truth it seems very smooth without any real hic-ups. This is a new experience for me as I have two lever guns in the safe that I have never fired. The Rossi...
