It'll be fine in the open air. A light coat of oil (or silicone) will take care of any residual moisture that may be in the atmosphere.

Yes, it can happen. If you live in a humid area or leave a gun for a long period, rust can indeed form inside a case. Some people also have very acidic sweat, which if not carefully wiped off of a gun can cause it to rust inside a case. (or even quite quickly, in the open air)

If you already have more than you could use in a lifetime, why buy more? It's just going to sit around, and make less stock available for folks who will actually use it. I dunno...to me, you might as well ask "I have all the frozen pizzas I could possibly eat. Should I buy five more cases?"...

Yup. Guns are meant to be shot, IMHO. If it's pristine, you're not having enough fun with it.

Not really, no. There are certainly less lethal options out there, but even "non lethal" projectiles can kill if the conditions are right. For training, airsoft and simunition-type markers are usually the way to go though.

Just so you know, Maryland is most certainly not an open-carry state. If you are traveling through, secure your gun in your car as required by FOPA and you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have a problem if pulled over.

We can't carry here in MD (yet) but when we get it, I'll be carrying an extra mag whenever I have an autopistol on me. If I decide to tote a revolver, I'd probably carry a speedloader or a New York reload.
