Bersa Ultra Compact 9. Supposedly the best gun Bersa makes. Compact, uber-reliable, and can be had for < $400. Also, Glock 26. But it's $150 more, less concealable, and fairly bland. BUT, it's reliable and will do what you want it to when you want to do it.

hexidismal, sorry to hear about your troubles. I think your case is the rare exception, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating or disappointing for you. Your Bersa has a lifetime guarantee, so it might be worth your while to send it in for service.

For certain calibers, DPX is the best show in town. That's why. gordonagain, IIRC there's a thread over at bersachat.com in the ammo section regarding a .380 DPX squib, although it was caused by the case bursting rather than a poor burn. That's the only DPX malfunction I've ever come across.

Fantastic gun - accurate, easy to shoot, FUN to shoot, and reliable as can be. As has already been said, the "Plus" is a double stack version of the Thunder 380, so she may want to stick to the regular or CC versions.

How would you compare the 26 and 36 from a concelability standpoint? I've found the 27 to be too fat for CC and I'm hoping the single stack 36 will be easier to conceal - true or false?

I really only have two complaints: 1. Terrible tactile feedback. There's very little travel and feedback with the mag release, and the take-up point for the release is very late in the travel. I find that I have to hit it twice to drop the mag. Also, when inserting a mag, there's no satisfying...

My Bersa is fairly new but I've been giving it a heavy work out. Several hundred rounds without a single hiccup. It's not as pocketable as a p3AT or LCP, but I can put 100 rounds through it and it'll be as accurate and comfortable to shoot on #300 as it was on #1
