    Springfield M1A: acceptable receiver/stock gap?

I am going to assume you have an SAI receiver and an original USGI fiberglass stock (many were painted with black krinkle paint to hide the blemishes). The gap is typical of such a combination, but is not desireable for long range accuracy. You can fill in the gap using any bedding compound...

Have you ever carried a gun to be drawn with your weak hand?

I remember range time years ago with John Farnam and Manny Kapelsohn where we had to draw and shoot using only the weak hand, from your normal carry position. Weak hand only malfunction drills were also part of the curriculum. ;) It was a real eye opener regarding choice of holster and carry...

    9mm Federal 115gr AMMO Question

Federal make 2 different brands of generic ammo. Boxes are similar in color. 1. American Eagle - decent quality. 2. Champion - Made on Monday morning or Friday afternoon, possibly by drunkards. Several dollars less than American Eagle, but very inconsistent. One cartridge might be...

    124gr 9mm Federal American Eagle

The IRT simply has no exposed lead at the base of the bullet. It is only slighty slower, and should be of the same high quality as standard AE. Usually it is more expensive than standard, but anything is possible. The Federal "Champion" line is the cheap, inconsistent fodder that one should...

Paul7, Try looking at the other way around. I'm leary of any ammo that is not designed to work in all guns. It's like putting Regular gasoline in an engine designed to run on high octane Premium. Performance will suffer. ;)

Paul7 Ammo like Federal AE, WWB and Tula is often underpowered for use in stock Berettas. Berettas leave the factory with springs rated for NATO spec 124 gr loads, which are +P or even +P+. Your slide is not coming rearward enough to time properly. Try cycling the same rounds thru by hand...

I only use the D models. No annoying levers... and they already have a D spring.

    Federal 9mm Issues

I've yet to have any problems with any Federal in any Beretta. I've used WWB in the past, with all sorts of inconsistent loads (9mm, .40 and .45). If you want something hotter for the same price, try Fiocchi. It is rated about 100 fps faster, and should cycle even the toughest springs.

    Kimber Solo 9mm backlog?

I think they build one a month, then ship it directly to GunBroker  I have yet to see an actual production silver model, only a few pics of one in a magazine. My LGS had a sample that was used to take orders, but ended up selling it as a gift to a retiring State Police officer...
