    Great thread! I was hoping I could get a dob on my late Father's S&W. Here are the specs: .38 Special 4 inch barrel Square butt grips (checkered wood) 6 shot Fixed sights Serial # 381029 (taken from butt and face of cylinder - no letters) Thanks for any information you can provide!
