I have a 1847 Walker and the other day while cleaning I decided to remove the nipples and clean around the threads They did not wish to unscrew very easy.
And was wondering is there a tap to clean out the cylinder threads Or even should you. And if so where would be a good place to attain...
I believe I was stay around 40grains
I believe I will start at say 35 grains and work up to 40 grains somewhere maybe in between. Thanks for everyones comments.

I just recieved my new Uberti 1847 Walker from Cabellas. I shoot with Porodex (P) Powder. FFFG. And the manuel says to load a max of 30 Grains. I was thinking that a 50 Grains load would be safe for this gun. Others who own one of these what do you think

I thank the Piettas from carbellas are great for Large Hands I Ordered a 1858 Buffalo Steel fro abotm them Cant wait to shoot it. The brass frames are good first time shooters.
I see different powder loads for Pietta 1851 New Army pistols.44 cal the book says 15 grains for a 454.Ball I have ordered .451 balls and a bottle of P type powder for pistols What amount of Of (P) powder is normal.

Along with a scope mount for this rifle It says to get a mount that will accept a # 50 Clamps for the scope. I wish to install a BSA Sweet 22 But can someone that has experience tell me what Clamps will work for this setup..
