I wouldn't get the 10x for hunting, especially in heavily wooded areas.
And about having a scope for hunting/target/all around;
remember that the scope is only as accurate as you are. If you're going to be shooting out to 1000yards you probably need to invest in a range finder and all that jazz.
I wear contacts/glasses. Just depends on what i'm doing. For shooting right now i'm using some Smith&Wesson safety glasses I got at my local gun shop for ~$20. These are just rated for ANSI Z87. I would like something that is MILspec because they can handle .22LR impact (not like that would ever...
It's just like any other low-end polymer firearm... you get what you pay for. It's terrible that it happened, but it doesn't really surprise me all that much. She's very lucky.

Obviously i'm here because I like firearms/weapons. I collect knives and guns... I mostly have rifles (mostly bolt/lever) and shotguns. All my handguns are revolvers, except for my Mark I. I'm looking to gain more knowledge on semi-auto rifles and pistols.
