I'm going to shoot some clays with friends tomorrow using one of the red hand throwers. I can launch them with great accuracy with the thing, but some people can't seem to get the hang out of it. Once you do, it's unbelievable how far you can throw them. It's really fun if you don't shoot...

I only own three guns Handgun: CZ P-01 9mm Small enough to CCW, large enough for range work and paper punching. 14+1 capacity in a semi-compact frame. Not the cheapest gun out there, but more affordable than some given the heavy-duty tests it had to endure to be a NATO approved...

Why is there a difference in the length of the metal portion of the cases of these two shells? They are the same brand, the green one is 00 buck, and the black one is 7 1/2 birdshot.

Is it relatively cheaper to reload .410 as compared to 12 ga? Or do the components cost more for some reason?

That's a great deal. I recently bought a Mossberg 500 from Academy for $199, regular price. I may have gone for the 870 if it were the same price. They have a decent selection of guns for a discount store.

The one time I took my wife to the shooting range, she got so bored that she literally fell asleep on a picnic table near the 100m range despite the centerfire rifles being fired. It's OK though, I usually get really bored when I go to the horse barn with her.

Do you really need a thread to explain the dangers of hunting a dangerous animal with just a knife? ;) It sounds fun, but I'm too weak-sauce to try it.

The Maverick is $154 right now at Academy. The Mossberg 500 (plain-jane version, wood/bbl, 28") is $199. I just picked up one of the 500's. It's my first shotgun! :)
