The few SKS's I shot (my own Russian refurb) and a friends Chinese model, are both under valued in my opinion. You cannot by a comparable firearm for that price.
All metal construction and aside from the earlier Norinco's, they work really well and cheap to shoot.
I typically take mine...
Think you have me confused with someone else. I am not 'reviewing' any rifle. Just saying I have one and won't be shooting it without the brake. Kicks hard enough with it on. If someone else wants to shoot theirs without a brake and/or review it, go ahead.
cheers,
I thought you were referring to loading the rifle hence the "??". We have mandatory training up here however I am by no means an expert. Just a simple-ton who likes to go shooting at a range on the odd weekend.
That being said, never heard of loading the bipod.
Do tell, sounds interesting...
Well, our local 'drug dealers' (here in Canada) have the same firearms as your 'drug dealers' and we have much stricter gun control rules here.
Honest gun owners obey the rules. Bad guys don't. It's that simple. Deal with the bad guys who have illegal firearms (mandatory jail time...
Sorry, should have added 'here in Canada'. Dealer up here selling brand new Chinese SKS for $75 when you buy a crate of ammo! Another selling a crate of Russian refurb's for $1800 (10 rifles).
cheers,

Double barrel shorty at the range. Shooting slugs for coffee at 20 feet at a 2'X2' target. Fired both shots separately. Missed the target, twice!
I hate shotguns:fire:
45-70 will take anything in North America within a reasonable range. It is not a long range cartridge. It is however a fantastic bush gun. Plenty of power, big bullet and lever actions are short and easy to shoulder quickly as mentioned earlier.
Factory 405's are tame. There are however...
I hear ya! I 'thought' I was treating myself to a quality rifle and I am sure most of them are. I too have no time for the arrogant treatment I received when having issues with one of their firearms that was 'supposedly' checked by the manufacturer. Two of my shooting buddies happened to be...
I see your point and have had that one pointed out to me as well, until one sees it being fired. I find this rifle has quite the wallop so to speak when fired. Tends to kick back, even with the brake. That being said, I am by no means an expert. Just noticed the amount of kick back (for me...
