I'd find a nice used 6" Ruger Security Six and send it off to Gemini Customs. I have an SP101 that they did for me over 10 years ago and it's my favorite revolver.....or maybe just send them a few of the Speed Six and Service Sixes I already have.
C'mon now, not interested in a big fight over this. I never said it wasn't possible to conceal a big gun. We all have to do what works best for ourselves. A pocket gun works for me, big guns generally don't.
If you really feel I called 50% of "us" liars, I really can't help you. I...
That's a bit snarky don't you think? Feel better?
I'm just being realistic and feel perfectly well protected with a little gun, it isn't as simple as "inconvenient". If I'm on the golf course or at work I can't show up with some un-tucked, 2 sizes too big flannel shirt to cover a big OWB...
I don't carry every day, or even most days, but when I do it is this Rohrbaugh in a front pocket holster. Yes, it's a $1000 gun but I didn't pick it for show...it's in a pocket after all. It's just a good little 9mm.
I'll be more blunt than the OP....I think 50+% of the guns that show up in...
More often than anything else, my Rohrbaugh R9. (Yes, it was kind of expensive but not as much as people will say. No, it has never in any way malfunctioned and I shoot it frequently)
I don't think it's that black and white, especially if the revolver has a hammer. And while its written over and over, the only basis most have is that they read it once somewhere.
If you multiply the probability that an autoloader would malfunction when fired inside a purse by the...
Smith 29 (Dirty Harry)
Smith 63 (kit gun)
Beretta 92 (modern classic)
Colt 1911 (although I am not that big on them)
Ruger Security/Service/Speed Six (gaining popularity but still under-rated)
Browning Hi Power (sleek)
Sig P series (P239 and P245 are my favorites, but P226 and others are...
That is probably the last thing I would worry about. Sure, I wouldn't carry a rare collector gun but honestly if I have to use it the difference between temporarily giving up a $300 gun or a $1100 gun is pretty small.
I see this concern pop up all over the boards but to me it's a little weak.
OP, Could you drop back in and clarify what you're really asking?
So, I have a gun. I hold it over my head. I drop it in my driveway.
Are you asking:
Are we worried about it working?
Are we worried it isn't pretty any more?
Do we start with ugly guns on purpose so the...
I think the grips are Badger Grips, available separately online...and if anyone wants to know the cost, all they have to do is go to the Gemini Customs site.
I've had my 3 inch Gemini for 10 years or so. The trigger is about as good as it gets, both the action job and just the radius and polish of the trigger itself.
Actually jmr40, a .357 will push a 158 grain bullet slightly faster than a 124 grain 9mm +P...big difference, a .357 using a light bullet will be a huge increase over 9mm. A look at Speer Gold Dot data as an example...although not military ammo of course but probably fairly hot stuff.
38...
Except for real estate and Beanie Babies, that pretty much true for everything.
I am always in the market for any of the Sixes and the prices I see are not just ban-panic prices, these Rugers have seen a steady climb over the last 5 years. Take a look at the auctions, that's a $500 or more...
