Does it matter if you seprate brass by maf?

I do. All of my shooting is for bullseye though. For any other type of pistol shooting I wouldn't bother. Fully prep your pistol brass (deprime, flash holes/pockets) and then take a random sample of statistical significance. You will likely be surprised at your standard deviation and extreme...

45ACP and the crimp. Most bullets are tight, a few are not. Why?

remember that crimp is case length dependent.

    X-dies with range pickup brass?

when im loading I set all of my ammo in a loading tray upside down and mark the head with a sharpie in a distinctive color (ie not black.) It makes it easy to separate from the other guys when we all shoot bullseye together. (we are all shooting 45s.) It is easy to tell who shot what based upon...

Why do some gun shops not like you to "slingshot" the slide?

This is really the primary reason for a 1911. On a bullseye gun, or gun with equivalent quality trigger work, it can cause damage to a carefully fitted sear and hammer hooks. On a glock or equivalent there isn't alot of precision fitting to damage.

Why do some gun shops not like you to "slingshot" the slide?

It is possible to damage a nicely fitted 1911 this way, and it is more than reasonable to ask that you not drop the slide on an empty chamber. It has nothing to do with the gun being "junk".

    Circular Direct Imprintment Gas System

why is there a gas tube on the bolt, when the functional gas tube runs above it? Also, it would be difficult to time the cycle duration as it is a directly related to multiple factors that would be difficult to control/change. (what about running a suppressor?) 1. diameter of the tube 2. angle...

Suggestions for (used) 9mm single stack for range use

1911 in 9mm isn't really going to happen for $400. although you could possibly find a RIA for that price

Mount for mini red dot sights on handguns

I am aware of some mounts for the doctor, jp and burris fastfire. Not sure of the trijicon. they replace the dovetail and have a flat mount on top that matches the screw pattern for the various sights.

    Newbie question: commercial bullseye ammo?

brian zins is coming out with some match grade ammo soon. 185gr jhp. considering cost of ammo, i would suggest you invest in some reloading gear. if you stick with bullseye, it will pay for itself quite quickly.

Any gun ranges near Tacoma, WA???

its not a law at all. Some ranges only allow you to load a certain number of rounds in a magazine as a safety precaution/means of slowing down your rate of fire.
