Cook County, IL Passes New Gun Law

How would city officials know that you had a gun in the first place? Are guns registered in Illinois? Is this an attempt at beginning registration? Mac

    Die Setup question

When I setup my Lee dies, I tighten them with a wrench. When everything is set where I want it, I use a fine tip dry erase marker and make a line down my bullet seating and crimp dies. Across the top adjuster, and the lock nut onto the turret itself. While you use the dies you will see...

Fire Mission: Fox News Poll: Is it time to make constitutional changes to gun rights

No.... Latest results: I don't know - 1% Yes - 3% No - 96% I wished it would let you know how many people voted.

    No primers in town!

I wouldn't buy any reloading supplies from either Gander Mtn or Bass Pro where I live. Their prices are terrible (both @ $45/k on primers and $25+ on all powders). My lgs are even worse. I swear everybody seems to want to charge me a seperate hazmat on EACH item I buy locally. I buy only...

1st 50 .30 Carbine rounds load - OAL and Lee FCD Questions

A crutch for people who make bad ammo? Lets not insult all the people out there that like the FCD now. I look at the FCD as a warning system, just the same as a powder cop die, sizer gauge, etc. If I never feel the carbide ring touch anything then I know everything is fine. If I feel...

    Lee Service

The return spring on my Pro Auto Disk snapped one day hitting me in the chest (another good reason to wear safety glasses while reloading). When I emailed Lee they sent me 2 replacements no charge. Great company! Mac

    Should I or SHOULDN'T I ???

It's pretty cool that you got back into reloading after that long of a break. But I'm more impressed that you were able to find a thread that you started almost a year ago! I can't seem to find my keys most days. Mac

    caliper preference?

I use digital - batteries don't bother me. As long as there is no flex in the jaws and you can get repeatable measurements. I bought a cheap (inexpensive) one from Frankford Arsenal and it works just fine. Mac

    problems with bullseye metering

Bullseye measures very well out of my Lee Pro Auto Disk (wish I could say the same for H110 - leaks like a sieve). Mac

    H110 Paranoia

I think the bigget problem I have is not pushing the envelope with a too hot load - just the opposite. All over the boards everyone says "Don't download this powder". Hodgdon's own website says not to go under minimum load greater than 3%. Then you find the following load info: Hodgdon's...

    Powder Valley order arrived

Powder Valley is out of Tula small pistol primers now. I was going to order some but I guess I will have to keep an eye out for when they are back in stock. Can't beat $20 a brick. Mac

    H110 Paranoia

Thanks Lost Sheep for that reply! I realize (from all the reading on this and other forums) that neck tension is very important in developing proper pressures. I set my neck sizer to bell my cases only enough to seat a bullet just enough so it won't fall out by itself when turned upside...

    Where do you tumble?

I use one USED dryer sheets cut in half per load. It keeps any dust down to a minimum. I tumble in my computer room and don't have a problem at all with dust on anything. Mac

    H110 Paranoia

Thanks all for the responses! I used 15grs because it was slightly less than my latest speer manual advised (it stated 15.5 max). I keep seeing everyone here and in other threads saying they use up to 17grs with a 158gr jacketed bullet. I have some hornady 158grhp to try next. If I...
