AR pros and cons, should I buy one? Your thoughts please.

I look at it as there are plenty of better guns out there(GO FN) But the History and the feel is hard to resist. AR is something you are issued or born to love. All i can say is" If your gut is telling you you need one" then buy one that you feel is good for you. You can always modify it later...

Long Distance Shooting...Where do you go...and if you are not at a "Rifle Range" how

I use a 12X12 steel plate about 3/16" to 1/2" depending on what I can find at the machine shop or cardboard. set it at 600M + Reference FM 23-10 for set up instructions, but to make it short you sit, pron, standing. A sling is used most often but a Bi pod is ok.

bolt action vs semi-auto: what questions do I need to be asking myself?

This is just my experience. Don"t mix the two Home Defense: Semi auto. Because when you are under stress the average home owner is not trained to withstand the blood wrenching reaction you get. just keep pulling the trigger until the threat is gone. Hunting: Bolt action, remember "One shot one...

    What AR-15 manufacturer?

To be fair about this, from what I have heard so far is opinion and what an individual is used to, or has access to. But little facts are being presented. I know I am new to this site but my experience and love for the history and the rifle its self has brought me to many libraries and talking...

    6.8 SPC Effective Range?

http://demigodllc.com/~zak/firearms/6.8SPC/faq.php This has range data up to 800 yards. At 800 yards it has a 1175 FPS rating. this is done from an 18" barrel so it may change the data a bit with the 16" barrel. I own the 6.8 SPC M4A3 but use it for "Close Quarter " drills so far so good

    Rifle for newbie

machine guns, "assault weapon", "assault rifle" dosen't matter what it is called. Semi- auto what ever is the only thing you can buy at your local dealer with out a class 3 dealer license. If you want safe and afective home defence buy a shotgun with DH shells.
