    http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f179/Jen28700/gun.jpg This is it, I measured the barrel and it is 1 and a quarter inches...stamped on the barrel is Detective Spec. 38 Special CTG I'm not sure what the problem is here unless it was stamped wrong

    .38 Special Inherited Colt Detective Special...has Detective Special .38 Special ctg. stamped on barrel, but takes a regular .38. The serial is 143488...curious of age.
