    Strange Brass Failure

Not strange at all. Case-head separation.

    Beam scale is off

That scale is a 5-0-5 scale, which means at the ends of its design it is +/- 5% accuracy, and accurate at its intended zero range. (5-0-5 is also a brand name by RCBS, but this is a design description of the accuracy of gauges, scales, and the like.) Your scale is within specification for the...

    IMR 4350 Useless?

IMR 4350 is THE midrange, non-belted magnum powder for rifles. My go to for .270, .243, .308, and 30-06. I'll take every bit off your hands if you do not want it!

Will 44 mag dies work for 44 special?

Answer is: It depends... Some can do both. Some cannot. I have a set of RCBS dies for 10mm I bought in 1989. The bullet seater/crimp will not do .40 Short & Wimpy.

    Shelf life of reloads?

I loaded four hundred rounds of my settled-upon accuracy hunting load in 1990. 7mm RemMag, Barnes Original X bullet, etc.... I shoot a max of three per year. I have a lifetime supply for that rifle. They kill deer and antelope every year.

    Am I Partly to Blame?

All I am saying is that I have sufficient powder on hand to continue my reloading/shooting unabated for a while.
