New browning BLR model short barrels and side rails

Yeah, Browning and I have been back and forth on the BLR "tactical." My focus was on weight reduction, which I succeeded with by using a dreadfully expensive MPI fiberglass stock. Still needs an action job, but it's a petty cool gun. In a Negrini case it's a totally handy package. I was asking...

    Guns 'n Nature

"Guns and Nature" sounds like a really crummy LA rock band… Michael B PS: JOKING! JOKING!

    Locked Out of My Safe

When my electronic keypad tanked, it cost about $175 for the visit to open it up. I now have no more electronic keypads… Michael B

Happy New Year! What Is the ONE Gun You Most Wish to Acquire in 2015?

    I don't know…something different…maybe a BFR 45-70 revolver…or a Barrett 98B in 6.5 Creedmore…or a Big Horn Armory .500 lever rifle…or a Cabot Black Diamond 1911…or a a Jim Clark double rifle in 450-400...something that in my right mind I would never buy, but like maybe I could win the...

    looking for a small 9

Hard choice. I've shot them all extensively and from this list would probably go with the LC9. My current favorite mini-9 is the Sig Sauer P938, but it is single action. Lately I've been carrying the Taurus "Slim" in Simply Rugged pancake...I like the way it shoots. Michael B

Quiet please! 22 Ammo test in progress

CB Longs out of my T/C Contender are quieter than my pellet rifle. I'm going to have The T/C barrel threaded for my old Tac-Sol .22 silencer, then it ought to be pretty close to dead quiet. Michael B

    Gun climate/culture in mountain states...

I've lived in Colorado's Front Range for a decade, most of the time in a little town far enough away from Boulder that you can't smell the granola. Seems to me things are actually improving gunwise. We've had some epic battles with the U.S. Forest Service on shooting on public land, be we seem...

    THe "experts" being interviewed

I once bought a skid of ammo at one time. Other than a pissed off UPS driver, no big. And hey, today I learned that in Colorado, where I have lived for more than a decade, there is a "$152.92 permit fee per weapon" to own a gun! Who knew? MSM = Tag Team Morons Michael B

So, how do you pay for your hobby of guns?

I parlayed a short-term consulting gig for a tiny television network devoted to gold prospectors and an abysmal lack of knowledge about television into 12 seasons of SHOOTING GALLERY, not to mention THE BEST DEFENSE, COWBOYS, TBD/SURVIVAL and now RAPID FIRE and GUN STORIES. Ten years ago I...

So we're finishing up GUN STORIES Season 2 at the NRA National Firearms Museum in Fairfax and Joe M. says he's going to a reception for the GI Film Festival and he'd like for us to go with him. We say, "Cool beans!," and me, Producer Tim Cremin and DP Rob Stookey head out. Pretty soon we're...
