    Several Hunting Questions

I'm also in Ohio (in Stark County near the Summit County border) and would like to try my hand at hunting. Thanks for being willing to teach new hunters, 1911 Guy. I might send you a PM. I just wanted to let you know in advance as a courtesy. If we do go hunting, you can keep the meat, if...

How often should we write our elected officials?

I wrote last week to my US Representative, one US Senator (the other one agrees with Obama on guns, and has a wife who writes anti-gun pieces for a major newspaper in my state), the governor and my state senator and representative. I got responses from my US Representative and US Senator fairly...

Airguns to get us through the shortages?

I was thinking of a gun powder mess with having to clean the gun and all. All my biodegradable pellets disappear into the grass and I never see them again. I guess I should have said not as much mess.

Assuming you can't get to your gun, home defense alternative?

Yeah, if you played pitcher in Little League and have some baseballs around, those could be used as weapons. :D

Assuming you can't get to your gun, home defense alternative?

I'd say run away or hide, but if you have to fight, there are a few options. If you had a crossbow and there was only one attacker, that could be an option. Maybe a Louisville Slugger, golf club, hammer (my family has a big mallet for driving tent stakes) or hatchet if you didn't have a...

Airguns to get us through the shortages?

That's true about full auto airsoft. It's also much cheaper than shooting a real gun, with no mess to clean up. (well, not as MUCH mess) I just got an airsoft replica AK-47 AEG and shooting full auto is really enjoyable. I knock down all the pop cans in semi-auto and then switch to full auto...

New Member? Introduce yourself here (just intros, questions get answered elsewhere)

I'm Mike from Ohio. I used to lurk here a lot a few years ago, but developed other interests. I don't own any firearms but do own some air guns.

Airguns to get us through the shortages?

Another thing to be careful of are the tacticool air guns. I've seen a ton of the Crosman M4-177 rifles at stores that are just a Crosman 760 pellet/BB rifle dressed up to look like an M4. The 760 costs $35-40 while the M4 costs at least $70.

Airguns to get us through the shortages?

I have a Daisy 822 (.22 multipump) that I got for Christmas when I was 14. I don't remember the last time I shot it. I bought a Crosman 1077 last spring. It's a .177 12-shot rifle. It's OK, I wish I would have known about breakbarrels before I bought it, but wanted a repeating pellet gun...

Air guns for VERY CHEAP plinkering?

I just bought a 1377. I've only shot a couple of pellets, 4 of them at 5 pumps and they have no problem punching through a pop can. I shot my first pellet at 3 pumps (what Crosman considers the minimum amount of pumps) and it barely dented the can, like the way my airsofts do it. To the OP...
