S&W Model 642 Needs Lighter Trigger Pull For Wife

Can this be achieved with just a change of springs? Is it difficult to do? Could someone with a moderate amount of mechanical ability change springs? Should I just forget it and send the gun to S&W? I did order some new Wolff springs for it. I thought even if I don't change the springs they...

    First Revolver...recommend 45ACP, .357, .44?

For me, my 4" 686P. Seven shots, smoother trigger, higher resale/better investment. Having said that, I'd still love to have a 3" Ruger SP101 to go with my S&W 686P. They're both great guns. Tom

    Carry revolver

My wife loves her new Model 642 with Crimson Trace laser grips...and so do I. And she shoots .38+p's through it. Doesn't mind it at all. I almost wish we had another 642...for me! Tom

    Ruger GP100 vs. Smith 686

I like the ultra smooth trigger and the resale value on my S&W 686P. The lock doesn't bother me in the least. But I wish I had the Ruger too. Ruger makes great guns...I'm in love with my 4 5/8", .44mag/.44spec, Super Blackhawk. One of the most fun and accurate guns I've ever shot. Tom
