Those who claim the P95 is unrefined haven't handled one of the newer ones. A great fine shooting pistol, not ugly at all and an exceptional value. American made with great customer service and readily available parts. I picked one up recently for $299 and its worth every penny and then some...

M&P all the way. I dislike the way Glocks feel, but I love my M&P. Plus its American made with fantastic customer service. Glock would be second choice because I like the XD even less. Plus I think the whole selling a Croatian pistol as an American one seems a bit deceptive...but thats just me.

You can get a Mossberg Maverick for the same price, or less, than the Chicom gun.

When i bought my Mossy 88 the guy at Academy tried to push the HR too. He didn't even know it was made in China till I showed him the "Made in China" stamp on the side of the gun. All things being equal, why buy a gun that supports the Chicoms when you can get a Mossberg that was made in Eagle...

After seing the link to federal compliance it does seem like the SKS is in violation. Looks like a Saiga instead...looking at them in more detail..I do like the stock look so I may just keep it that way.. Thanks guys..as always good sound advice without being condescending.

Well...another Saiga thread, but having a hard time deciding between a Saiga 223 or a pretty nice SKS i found. The SKS is a Yugo, but its in ncie shape with a composite stock, hi cap mag and a bayonet. The Saiga is new, but a totally stock sporter. The SKS is $230..the Saiga $285. I want the gun...

Well..I haven't purposely excluded foreign guns, but its turned out that I only own American made guns Smith M&P KelTec 32 Ruger P94 Mossberg 500 but I'm really leaning towards getting a Saiga..unbeatable price, seems like a fun gun to own.

I like the M&P much better. Better ergonomics, American made, just a nicer all around gun IMHO. Was looking at an XD catalog...lots of nice pictures with large writing on the guns shown "Springfield Armory USA"..but no mention at all of "Made in Croatia". Seemed a tad deceptive to me.

I'd say you'd be better off with the M&p or the FNP..both American made with better customer service if thats a concern for you.
