Is there a reason you chose the 642 over the 442? The .38 Special's are rather high on my list because I sold and gave away all my revolvers... I had an S&W 37-2 (basically a 442 with a hammer) an S&W 65-3 .357, and an S&W model 10 2".

Most people won't care about the second amendment if something like that happens... Half of the country would be calling for banning all guns. Didn't we get a lot of anti-gun laws after JFK?

Do you guys think S&W will come out with a short barrel version of the new model 63?

I'm thinking about getting an S&W 317 with a 1/8" barrel. I have some questions about them... How well will the aluminum cylinder hold up? Would it be possible to use a model 63 stainless steel cylinder in a model 317? Could I get a different type of hammer for it?
