    O/U Recommendations

I have shot the same model gun, one ported, one not, side-by-side, and did not notice any real difference other then the noise. I would pass on that option. Barrel length is a matter of preference. There is some conventional wisdom in selecting the "proper" length, but ultimately, it's...

    Recommendations on 1st shotgun

There's nothing wrong with a good used 870 Wingmaster. With a Rem-Choke barrel (26" or 28" would be my suggestion) it should cover just about anything you'd want to do with a shotgun. If you're on a budget and want an O/U, you might want to look for a used SKB. They are built like tanks and...

    Remington Model 11

The Remington 11 is the basic Auto-5 design but does not have the shell cutoff on the receiver. They even interchange some parts. It is my understanding that Mr. Browning licensed his design to Remington so it could be built in the States after some sort of conflict between Browning and...

    Remington model 11 questions

I was looking at additional commercial barrels for my M11 several months back and I saw them in the $100-$150 range on the auctions sites Lee mentioned. However, I was not looking for one with the military ordnance stampings. That could definitely make finding one more difficult and more...

    Spanish "Ruby" .32 help, please

Maybe I don't have a Ruby after all. It is chambered for .32 ACP and is single-action. The magazine is a single-stack and the bottom of the frame has ahalf-loop lanyard attachment. The frame has no stampings other than the serial number, but it has been refinished so any markings might have...

    Spanish "Ruby" .32 help, please

Blue, I'll give those forums a shot. Thanks. The gun is completely torn down into its individual parts... pins and all. I spent an hour with it the other night and have most of it figured out. I'm not exactly sure how to orient the mainspring rod/plunger (as it attaches to the hammer...

    Spanish "Ruby" .32 help, please

A friend brought over a pistol... in pieces... and asked if I might be able to put it back together. Looking at it I believe it is a Spanish "Ruby" .32 ACP. I need complete take-down and reassemble instructions. Pictures would be a great help. I have some "armoring" experience and I'm...

Beginner air rifle for young child?

All good information... thanks everyone. I'm not sure that I want a repeater for her first gun. I'll have to think on that a bit. I am sure that I want an air rifle instead of a .22 for now. The gun will be shot extensively in the basement and I'm not letting off a .22 in the house. If...

Beginner air rifle for young child?

My 7 year old daughter wants an air-rifle for Christmas. :D She has never handled any type of rifle before and I think this is a great place to start. I did some internet searches and found so much information that I'm completely overwhelmed. I want something of decent quality but...

AAR Larry Mudgett Basic Defensive Pistol Class

Nice AAR Dave. I was fortunate enough to attend the training with Mr. Mudgett. The class was everything Dave made it out to be and was well worth the inventment in money and time. I will make it a point to train with Larry in the future. Larry has a straight-forward method of presenting...

    Revolver Suggestions: .357 4"

I paid $400, out-the-door ($375+tax) for mine last month at a gun shop. It is in excellent condition and shows very little signs of use and no signs of carry whatsoever. It is a pre-lock, no-MIM model. Of course, it shows signs of use now. Great gun! :D

Just traded a kel tec pf9 for a King Cobra

If you're going to leave it (secured) in a vehicle, I'd go with a revolver for a first. A gun bouncing around in a vehicle could lead to a dislodged magazine or disengaged safety levers. Of course, that might be avoided depending upon how it was stored. It's something to think about anyway.
