Gotcha. So, am I correct in believing that the lower the OAL, the the lower the max becomes, and you should “go down the ladder” to figure out what that is? For instance, if 4.2 is the best at 1.150” then the lower I can go with that until it becomes the new max over say 4.3?

I've loaded up and shot a couple hundred rounds of Berry's 115g with Longshot at 1.135" COL. I just got some 124g HBRN TP and want to load some up. Hodgdon's website lists a load with 1.150" COL. Is this the minimum, maximum, or recommended length?

Regardless if I wasn't seeing marks on the bullet I colored with a Sharpie, the case should definitely be sitting above the hood being that long correct? That, I can say with 100% certainty that it sits the same as the others.

I made a round to 1.196 and colored it. I didn't see any noticeable marks when I removed it. I even twisted it while in the barrel.

Well, I've made dummy rounds up to 1.212 and don't notice a difference. All fall in and out and make the same sound when dropped. None ever sit any higher in relation to the hood. Is this much difference even possible?
