I remove them from the pistol and use Windex sprayed on a toothbrush. It leaves them dull black and slightly "tacky". I guess it has no ill effects on the grips as I've been doing it for years on all my Pachmayrs.

Plain old Pachmayrs are what I prefer on any handgun, forgive the dirty pistol in this pic, had been carrying it at the ranch for 3 weeks and hadn't cleaned it yet.:)

I have both and am currently trying to sell the 220. The 1911 fits my hands better and I shoot it much more accurately than I shoot the Sig. Both of them are 100% reliable in my experiences. YMMV.:)

I prefer the dot, to me, my eye is drawn to the dot as its more prominent than the crosshairs in a duplex scope are. Never had a problem using one in low light, but thats just my experience. If you can, get a dot scope in your hands so you can look through it to see if you like it before you buy.

I went through the same process about 6 months ago, they let me handle it to make sure it had no scratches or dings from shipping. They did put some plastic trigger lock thing on it before they handed it to me though.

Anyone know if they are making the 37's like the old ones with the slam fire feature?? I might have to pick up an 8 shot model if they are.

The Metal Gear Solid series of games are pretty realistic when it comes to guns, with a few exceptions though. MGS isnt really a shoot everything that moves type of game though.

I have always used the "tension method" as well, if there is a slight pressure on the mainspring housing when I close it, I know the hammer strut is seated right. I've been taking MK II's apart since I was 9 and have never understood why some people find it so difficult. :scrutiny:

The Wild Bunch and Lonesome Dove have been my favorites for awhile now. John Wayne, Clint Eastwood made alot of good ones obviously. Open Range and Tombstone are probably my favorite newer westerns
