45 cal pistol dies to size 30.06 & family??

VettePilot 555 : Thank you for the thread and for "hanging in there" for the replies. It is a good trick, well worth knowing. I have several decades of time where I knew the case head dimensions were similar or identical but never pulled my head out enough to think it thru and utilize this...

45 cal pistol dies to size 30.06 & family??

PWC commented: "I don't see how you could get a 2.484" 30-06 case in a 45 die. Case of Cinderella's step sisters trying to fit in the glass slipper." If you remove the decaping pin and assembly you can just use the body of the die which in Lee's case has a carbide ring at the mouth. So...

Who is useing the plastic pistol sorter pans?

I have the shell sorter set and also the 380 plate. I've had it for about 5 years and the most important thing IMO is to do the separating by caliber in small batches. If you keep the work load to a few hundred at a time you have enough to establish a work process that works efficiently for...

    Which 32 acp?

dodo bird You are absolutely correct. https://www.genitron.com/Handgun/Taurus/Pistol/Millennium-Pro-PT-132/32-Auto/Variant-1 I wish I picked up one of these when they were available. They didn’t make them long. I have passed on the Taurus version twice on the used market thinking that Taurus...

An Art Deco Automatic: The Savage 1907

" Ten Shots Quick " This was the title of the often pictured Ad for the Savage Model of 1905 & 1907. It's advertising spokesman was Bat Masterson. According to 1950's TV lore it was the same Bat Masterson who "Had a cane and derby hat they called him Bat - Bat Masterson" The ad pictured a...

Dies for Dillon when Dillon doesn't make them

I have a mixture of die products. Dillon 450 and 550 series presses aren't picky as a general rule so I go with whatever I have or whatever I can get at a reasonable cost.

    Shipping times

The entire sub industry seems much much slower on just about everything. If you got it quick recently you were lucky - and thats a fact Jack.

    Old Fuff has passed away

RIP - Sorry to hear of Old Fuff's passing. He was one of the members I greatly appreciated in the earlier days of THR. Great knowledge source of firearms and insider scuttlebut from so long ago.

    Testing .38 S&W...

I agree with film495. Your results are very interesting to me. When you have time I know I would really like to see more similar testing of older revolvers which are obsolete but maybe not as obsolete as some of us would think.

How safe is a inertia bullet puller?

Your apprehension is well justified. If you stay apprehensive after reading the replies in this thread then you will have developed a fear. BTW post no 28 gives a tip about a good method of breaking the crimp seal before you start whacking away on the concrete. BTW No 2 you will have better...

I think you have a clean looking gun with slightly dressy grips. I like the look.

How do you feel about Longshot for 45 acp?

Longshot works best in 40 S&W, 10mm or similar pressure cartridge. It is not optimum for 45ACP. AA5 loaded up to near maximum will give very good results in 45ACP - good velocity and accurate.

    chrony shade screens

Thrifty idea for shade cause they could be adjusted for more than just unwanted Side Light. Thanks for the post and the idea. Very neat idea.

Anything special to know about the SR9c?

I have had one for over a year now and it is a good compact sized 9mm. The trigger is just fine, as it is, for the type of gun, in that it is smooth enough with just a minimal number of practice rounds to establish your tempo. With practice the trigger becomes almost as quick as some single...

    CFE Pistol in 45ACP?

Still use Clays in target 45 ACP since I had several pounds sand bagged. Next would be Accurate 2 for target or plinking with very low flash. 231 is very accurate with plenty of power but as mentioned it has always been somewhat smoky and dirty in its residue. Some don't care about the...
