Should I Switch to a Wet Rotary Tumbler?

I have close to the same process. I like to do all my brass prep work first. Then the brass is as clean as can be when you load it, there isn't even any finger prints on it when I'm done loading. Although I am extremely anal retentive. -I dry tumble first just for about an hour. Just to...

    Case trimmer's what's out there ?

Surprised no one has mentioned The Hornady Case Prep Center. I have one and love it. Works very well, I processed about 3000 .223 and 200 .308 over the weekend. It's expensive but it comes with all the pilots and shell holders to do most common cartridges.

    Federal .223 cases

I pick up a lot of Federal at my local police range. All the FC once fired is short. I don't even bother using a case gauge on it anymore. I figure the Federal wont need to be trimmed till the second or third firing. Almost all my federal brass needs to be swaged..

Also if you are having problems seating non-boattail bullets, just make sure you chamfer the inside of the case mouth. Yeah if bullets are easy to push into the case you do not have proper neck tension. This will cause you problems, such as setback.. Be careful and make sure you are properly...

    Wet thumbling vs regular thumbler?

If you prep your brass first.. ie. size/decap and or trim also, the wet tumbling will clean out the primer pocked and make it look like new. It will also polish the lip and take any burs off of the case mouth. And of course remove lube and almost all spots/stains and what have you. I...

    Wet thumbling vs regular thumbler?

If your not going to deprime before tumbling, you probably don't want to "Wet Tumble" The brass takes a good amount of time to dry, especially with primers still in em.. I own the Thumblers Tumbler and it makes amazing clean brass... Good as new.. Inside and out. But I size/deprime and do...

    Berdan to Boxer primer conversion

ali9cg8: as I said in post #15 I'm doing it right now, without too much hassle. It really doesn't take too long per case and it only needs to be done once. Not sure how hard it would be using a dremel though, as I mentioned I'm using a drill press.. Shoot me a PM if you want any extra info on...

    order of 'prep'...

This is for .223 brass or .308. Try doing your case prep before you reload. Like months before. It helps spread it out and makes it so it's not so tedious. My process - Tumble range brass (Hour or so to get the mud off) - Sort by headstamp - Hornady One-Shot spray lube (about 300 cases at...
