+1 for palmetto state armory. I live about 20 minutes from the place and just built a rifle using mainly their parts. (found a great deal on a bcm upper) but everything else came from palmetto state

Make sure your barrel is marked 5.56 before you feed any nato rated ammo through it. If it's only marked .223 do NOT use any nato rounds. The barrel isn't made to handle that pressure

You need a minimum barrel length of 16". Anything shorter becomes an "SBR" and is NFA 14.5 with a removable flash hider does not count. The flash hider or compensator has to be permanently mounted to the end of the barrel. That's why others have said you should just go with a 16" barrel...

another +1 on Lexington SC. Right outside of Columbia so lots to do.....but still kinda small town-ish mentality. Lake Murray is BEAUTIFUL, as are most of the inhabitants of it during the warmer months. (which are most of them)

add a little more and you can pick up a brand new SigPro 2022. Very nice pistols.

LOVE my RIA Tactical. shoots amazingly well, and I haven't had any problems from mine. That one hole you see was the RIA on it's second outing. 21ft, taking my time. Had one flyer off to the side....but the other 8 Rounds went where they were supposed too. (I was aiming at the 7)

If you're wanting a 22 pistol...the ruger MKI, MKII, or 22/45 models are the way to go. However if you want a gun that requires you to do all sorts of crazy stuff to break it down including inserting the magazine and pulling the trigger then removing the magazine then doing something else...

I agree with others on here about kids being smarter than most give them credit for. I dont have any of my own, but between 2 older sisters have 7 nieces and nephews, and they're scary smart as far as paying attention when you think they aren't. If your gun isn't on you then It really needs to...

The G27 is a dang good shooting pistol, but is kind thick. I've heard excellent reviews about the Walther PPS in 40, but have not had the pleasure of shooting one. Most everything I've heard about it has been good though. Basically depends on whether or not you want more rounds, or something thin

I've always wanted to shoot one but have never had the opportunity. The only things I've heard bad about them is the whole loss of velocity out of that short of a barrel thing.
