    Reloading Confused

"reading the manual" usually refers to the descriptions of how to reload. Not to be confused with consulting the manuals for load data for a specific combination of components. Understanding the disagreements between different published recipe info is the subject of much discussion on this forum.

    Lyman lead pot parts

I made one for my Lee 20 lb ... It was great to be able to forget about temp control :) It was the best mod I did to my casting process ;) It’s universal, so pot brand is irrelvant.

124 Xtreme load data info ?

From guns.com Does anyone know if this (IMI POLYMER Sig Sauer mount) will fit a P95DC? Probably a dumb question, but I feel kind of dumb right now o_O

124 Xtreme load data info ?

Yes, I have both of those boxes checked (retired & remote location) and I've been trying to load a crummy 30 rounds to chrono for three days :neener: You got to wish for no wife and no grandkids, too :what: But... who would be that crazy? ;) Not I :D

    Ball powder degredation

I like to shoot what I load, and keep the components separate for long-term storage. This is one justification, and the other is that few people like to shoot “estate sale ammo” :uhoh: That’s only one Old Man’s opinion :)

    X-Treme 9mm 115 HP journey

Thanks to all who took time to help me with this problem. Not anymore ;) Or the brain to line up the knowledge correctly :) I like to combine seating and crimping, and finding that I was over-expanding has set me free, as well as freeing up another station on the LNL so I can use the bullet...

Oh, I think I've had enough embarrassment for the first day of 2018 :D Just try to imagine 20 holes no closer than an inch to each other. ;)

OK I don’t know what happened (well I do too), but my crimp measurement was definitely not 0.380. Instead of chasing that rabbit, I think I’ll just post pictures of the readings on my micrometer and dial indicator. Unless I’ve gone totally stupid, they show 0.377, which I thought was too small...

Yes, crimping... I was getting setback... so more crimp :( Back to the dies.

    X-Treme 9mm 115 HP journey

Here we go: 1.070 oal No change in oal with 20+ pounds of force pushing the bullet into the case. Freely fits the case gauge. Feeds and ejects fine with no oal change. "M" die. Seat and crimp in one step. Crimp measures 0.380 Noticeable bullet waistband but plating looks intact. Maybe I should...

Will do. That's a negative relative to crimp? Too short, that is.

It could be because 1.050 seats the bullet at the start of the taper. I had a lot of trouble with the X-Treme 45-185-FP if any of the straight side stuck out past the case mouth. My SR45 didn’t like that at all. Gun shy, so to speak :) With the loads I tried already looking to be too light...

    X-Treme 9mm 115 HP journey

It's been 6 months since I worked on this load, or any load for that matter, so I better start from scratch and re-establish the oal for this bullet. I don't remember what made me decide on 1.050, because this pistol (Ruger P95DC) won't move this bullet back at all in a test round chambered at...
