What do you think you would have done? (Aggressive dog)

A single example doesn't demonstrate my statement is 'horse hockey' It's not normal for dogs to bite people. A reasonable person, being bitten would conclude they were being attacked. Self defense is appropriate. Doesn't matter whether the person 'read the dog manual' or not. Now you...

What do you think you would have done? (Aggressive dog)

You seem to be confused. dog <> person. You can legitimately shoot a dog in a lot of cases where shooting a person would not be appropriate. For example, shooting a dog in your chicken coop is fine. Shooting the neighbor in your chicken coop is not ok--even if he's eating your chickens on...

    TSA Flashlight limitations?

Not so far, but give it time and I'm sure they'll decide that light is dangerous. I've carried a surefire 6p on probably 30 flights or so since 9/11

Need update on carrying (transporting) through DC

Don't want to muddy the water here, but: DC has laws that prohibit possession AND DC isn't a state. so... Does the FOPA really provide protection while transiting DC?

S&W 29-3 Is it worth it?

Well condition is everything. 85-90% is a long ways from excellent condition, so I'd expect the price to be substantially less than an excellent specimen would bring. In that condition, the gun's a shooter, not a collector's item. I don't think I'd be ready to pay quite that much.

    Best caliber for Moose

The 270 with heavy bullets is FINE. So's the WSM version. Pick a heavy partition, bonded, or other tough bullet that will hold together and penetrate. As others mentioned, put the bullet in the right place and the moose will fall down. This is way more important that whether you're...

My new Smith&Wesson Outdoorsman--I need parts.

You know, looking at your naked gun 444 makes me wonder if my new gun had a 'round butt' conversion done on it. It sure doesn't look square in the picture. These guns were all square butt, weren't they?

A gun law that actually makes sense

If by illegal possession one means simple possession without the blessing of the law and in conjunction with no other crime, then NO, I would not like to see this in more places.

My new Smith&Wesson Outdoorsman--I need parts.

OK, Mine looks to be from the early 50's (S822xx), so if I'm reading you correctly the proper stocks would be square butt diamond magna?

My new Smith&Wesson Outdoorsman--I need parts.

It's chambered in 38 special, not 357. :D I checked Numrich, nothing for the model 23, but I'm not too sure which other models might have had the same parts. Any help there would be appreciated. I'm guessing they used the same grips/sights on other N frames, but I'm not sure about that.

    CCW in a Post Office?

FWIW, it also appears to be illegal to have a dog in your car while visiting the post office.

My new Smith&Wesson Outdoorsman--I need parts.

Well, I pulled the trigger on a new (to me) Smith. This might be getting to be a habit. I haven't gotten my mitts on it yet, but my wife is gonna pick it up for me when she visits her sister. I've just gotta wait one more week... When I asked you all for some help identifying this gun a...
