I am really interested in acquiring either a 4" or 5". I love how "ugly" it is, I think the stylistic departure makes it unique in a sea of nearly identical designs. I just haven't seen or heard word of any but the snubby being available yet.
So, I've been planning to pick up a GP-100 in .357. However, I just learned that there is also a version in .327 federal. I have no experience with this cartridge, but the tech-specs and reviews I've read of it look pretty good. What do you guys think of the cartridge?
I like the 7-shot...
According to Wikipedia (while we're on the subject of questionable  ) the gas-seal and curious cartridge design was originally to increase FPS, which it does successfully if only slightly noticeable. However, the design also makes it amazingly quiet with a suppressor. Apparently there...
I believe DPris was merely answering the OP's question "is there any other types of revolver that have a mechanism that is as interesting as the nagant...?" To that end, the Rhino would certainly qualify in my mind :)
As far as other gas-sealing revolvers, I don't think I've ever seen one. I...
For me, I like the idea I'm holding a firearm that's 70-100+ years old and is still in working order. And the thought that it was once the weapon of our enemy reminds me of how times change; in a sense that enemy has been defeated by time. Our enemies are an important part of our past.
That...
Haha!
Me. All the time.
So, what am I drooling over at the moment?
vz 61 Scorpion: It's just so....weird :D and it looks way fun to shoot.
Ruger GP-100: I'm convinced this is the revolver for me.
Marlin 1894C: Seems to pair nicely with the above.
Mosin Nagant 91/30: My awesome big...
I've never sold a gun before, as I've never owned one for myself until I bought my first handgun a couple years ago. However, this thread has helped me make a decision as to whether I should sell it or not. The answer is: not gonna sell. Despite the lack of commonly available ammunition and the...
Yeah, I read up a couple reviews and am really liking the Marlin 1894C. It is lighter than the Henry big boy, cheaper but still rugged, and has the option for a scope if I ever choose to go that direction (probably not, but the option is nice). Also, it's not as shiny and the wood is...
When I posted last night, I didn't notice the responses had already spilled over into page two :D
I'm going to check out the Washington Arms Collectors' May gun show with my brothers, so I think I'll make a list of all your guys' suggestions and try to get my hands on some. I'm not gonna lie, a...
After doing some more looking around and reading some really good stuff about the GP-100, I think I've decided to find one in 4". Is there any functional difference whether it is blued or stainless steel, or is it just eye-of-the-beholder?
I like the looks of both, but I definitely want to...
Personally, I don't mind the $200 tax. I have yet to purchase an NFA device, that tax being a huge part of why I haven't, but at the same time I think the $200 tax makes for a good incentive for government to make it easier for citizens to procure NFA devices.
If the machine gun registry were...
I'm thinking more of a one-off though, a custom project rather than a production item. If I were considering designing a production firearm, it would obviously need to be of much higher quality to be worth investing time and money in. But as I said early on, this is just an idea to bounce around...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the decision from McDonald v. Chicago would allow a case to be made that state laws completely banning NFA firearms are in violation of the 2nd Amendment.
In a nutshell, the supreme court decided that the 2nd Amendment is the right of every individual...
I'm checking out that CDNN catalog, and I really like the semi-auto CZ Scorpion on page 25. $399, .32 ACP semi-auto with one 10 round and two 20 round mags. I like how quirky it is, it's not a brick with sights like the M11 :D But I have a rather silly taste when it comes to firearms.
Thanks for all the responses guys! I think I'll rent a blackhawk at the range to try it out, but I'm really liking the look of the GP100. I like the swing-out cylinder on the GP100 better than the way the blackhawk loads. My brother has a .22mag Ruger that loads like the blackhawk and I'm not...
