S&W 1000 Shotgun: Is it reliable and was it a good deal?

I have one & that rubber washer did indeed "turn to goo". I replaced it with a garden hose rubber washer & it works fine now. It's been a while, but I think I had to trim it to size, but it works. Robert Lewis Erwin, TN

Best close range small game/varmint load?

RC, I agree with your statements. I wasn't going to mention my specific "varmint", but I will now to clarify my recommendation of #4 buckshot. I'm talking about stray/wild cats.

Best close range small game/varmint load?

For critters that I don't intend to eat, I use #4 buckshot. For edible types, squirrels, etc, I like #6 shot. Robert

    birdshot in a .357

Yeah, I got my shot by busting up some shotgun shells too. Looked at buying some shot, but it is too $$$$ for my purposes. That's why I used #8 shot.... because that's the shotgun shells I had. I'd like to get some of those store-bought shot cups, but now I just put in the powder (Bullseye)...

    birdshot in a .357

I load my own using #8 shot. I carry this when mowing the yard because I sometimes chase up mice & rats that are easier to hit with the shot. Gotta be pretty close though - about 8 feet. Robert

    Finally a Browning BDA 380

I agree that these are likely the most beautiful pistols ever made, anywhere. I don't have much use for a mid-sized 380, but have been tempted to buy one of these solely for their appearance. Beautiful. You should be proud of it. Robert in the hills of Tennessee

I don't understand the rash of .380 pistols today.

Ben86 wrote: ".380 pocket pistols are great when discretion is vital." That's what it's about for me. That and an occasional backup gun/reload. Mostly (99%) of the time, I carry a larger pistol semi-concealed (legal in TN). Robert in the hills of Tennessee

Is there such a thing as a full size .380?

CDIGMAN Wrote: "Browning made a beautiful .380, once upon a time, you can run into them, now and again on Gun Broker http://www.nazarian.no/images/wep/29...da380_Main.jpg Also, the Beretta model 84 is it's fraternal twin." I so agree with this. I've always thought these Berettas & Brownings...

    Kimber CDP PRO II

I got my CDP Pro, Series 1, several months ago, used of course. I actually had decided that my full size, all steel Kimber was too heavy to carry & swapped for this alloy frame pistol. I love it. It is every bit as accurate as the Kimber Classic Gold Match I had & much lighter to carry...

reviews of high noon, mernickle holsters

I bought a High Noon Closing Argument for my Ruger SP101. The quality is very good, but IMO the holster is too thick. It's an IWB, tuckable holster, but it just sticks out too far. Now I carry this revolver in a Crossbreed Supertuck & am quite happy with this one. Robert in the hills of...

    Do you bump fire?...AR-15

I bumpfire my Browning Buckmark .22 pistol. Fun & cheap. No, I don't even try to hit a target while doing it. Robert

    CZ 452 opinions

My 452 trainer is the most accurate .22 rifle I've ever seen. No exageration. It'll drive tacks. As far as the iron sights vs. scope, I put a scope on it once to see what it would do, but went back to the factory iron sights. They are VERY good sights. Robert in the hills of Tennessee

Does anyone make a knock off of the Milt Sparks Versa Max II?

Wow ! Nobody has mentioned TTGunleather. Good stuff there. Robert

    Self Defense: 00 vs. #4

#1 for my HD shotgun, but it's not always so easy to find to buy. #4 for my stray cat shotgun. Best darn cat load there is. Robert

22 revolver to enjoy for life

A couple of folks have mentioned the Diamondback. Yes...$$$$$$$$$$ I had one about 10 years ago. I bought it because it was one fine looking revolver. Very pretty. Unfortunately, it was one of the most inaccurate guns I've ever owned. Also, common light primer strikes. The inaccuracy...
