    I slugged my Hi-Point carbine

mic your bullets, sometimes the plated bullets are a bit undersized. if they mic at advertized size, try some factory ammo and see how it does. also, are you loading them with the same data as lead bullets? afaik the plated bullets are supposed to be loaded around the same velocity as...

    Superior Arms Lowers

I've got one, no problems with it, it's finished nicly, and fits up tight to my bushmaster upper. the roll marks on the lettering are uneven, but those have no effect on functioning.

.22lr ammo cost. Are you freaking kidding me?

two years ago here in central Okla the 500/550 value packs of rem, win and federal 36gr HP were running from $7.88 to $9.88 each, as of 5-5-08 the federals were $11.96, win $12.96 and rem $13.25; the counter clerk said they might be going up another 10% on june 1st.

    Optics advice requested

a decent and fairly inexpensive (approx $200) scope is the bushnell 3200 series fixed power 10X40mm mil dot with target turrets. I've got one that's seen a lot of use on top of a 308 bolt rifle, then on an AR, and it's kept its zero just fine.

looking to buy an AR please help

a good easy to find nearly anywhere off the rack AR rifle to meet the requirements (other than price) you typed would be either the bushmaster varminter with the 24" free floated 1:9 twist heavy barrel (for stabilizing bullets 69grs or less), or bushmaster predator with the 20" free floated...

    7.62x51 vs 308 winchester

commercial 223 and 556 nato brass are pretty damn close weight/case thickness sized with very simular internal case capcities, with both haveing the same external case diamentions, but 556 nato is loaded to a higher pressure, rifles designed to shoot 556 nato spec ammo have a slightly longer...

    bushmasters

I don't have a bushmaster "predator", but I've got a SS 1:8 ershaw barreled AR that shoots the 55gr varmint bullets just fine, when I do my part it'll put 5 rounds right around an inch. with a better shot pulling the trigger it'd probably get better groups.

    Dillon Motorized Trimmer: Any Experience

I've got mine set up on a lee pro1000 with the prime system removed from the carrier, I bought dedicated tool heads for each sizer/trim die so I don't have to adjust each time I use them, I run a couple of cases through at the first of the run to verify OAL is correct and then begin. I put...

    Getting Ready to reload .223

there's no cheap surplus anymore, pat's reloading has the 844 and 846 for $99/8lb jug, but you can ramshot TAC at powder valley for $95/8lb jug, Tac is some pretty decent powder for 223, works well with all weights, w748 is also a good all around powder in the 223 but is approx $30/jug...

Product report: Lee bullet sizer kit

they're great little sizers, I use them to size my 45/70LFPGC .460 bullet and 405HB .459 I cast, I've also have used a .224 sizer to size the pulled grade 3 55gr FMJ bullets for my 223rem loads.

    Pulled Mil Bullets (62gr)

it's been my experience with the pulled, polished and sized grade 1 and 2 that they'll get between 2" to 4" in groups at 100 yards depending on rifle and load, that's just about the same as I've gotten with the new never loaded surplus 62 and 55gr FMJ bullets. the hornaday 55gr FMJ is...

marlin made a run or two of them in the late 80s early 90s, I've never seen one outside of a gunshop though.

    Attn. .308 Battle Rifle Owners...

I seen some pics where someone mounted a 20round m14 mag in either a ruger 77 or savage 110 series with hinged floor plate, can't remember how it was held in though, I think they took the floor plate/trigger guard off, installed a regular blind box rifles trigger guard and mounted the mag in...
