The way I see it, on TV, there's a pretty clear reason for why a character has a gun. Another thing to note, is that guns are only shown when they're used, pretty much.
I don't think that most people are anti-gun, I just think that they're not that pro-gun.
That's the price of embracing technology.
Citizens developed and sell this technology. Make it cheap enough, and everyone will have one. And you'll cut down drastically on terroristic incidents. Having a terrorist shoot up a passenger terminal isn't as bad as having a terrorist hijack a...
Tell me that's not cool. It's almost as cool as the "airport" scanners in "Total Recall".
Seems to me, that's it's clear enough to stop false positives. Less hassle for the people going through it. And it'll detect plastic stuff too, by shape.
You're never going to stop the behaviour of suicide. Or homicide for that matter. You could make a dent in it, by jinxing some social factors. For instance, the Japanese have a high rate of student suicide, which they could probably drop by easing the stigma of academic failure. What's...
I'll kill it if a moderator asks me. I'm not advocating having a forum war, just to be clear. I don't even think I'd waste my time arguing with them on their site. It's just good to see things first hand instead of third hand.
And one should always follow the forum rules wherever you go.
I highly doubt that.

P.S. What you're also describing is the Dixiecrats, who should be...
Trust me, as a left leaning moderate, there are plenty of issues more important than guns. We're at war for one, and losing our civil liberties piecemeal for another. Not all liberals are anti-gunners. Saying so is just as unfair as saying that all conservatives are racist.
There are illegal cars depending on how they're configured. I tried to find a link listing illegal modifications, but from what I've seen they're at the county and state level.
I think it needs said, a coup is where the govt. is overthrown by the military. It's not when the military acts against civilians.
Word on the street is that a coup was considered over the Iraq war, but never happened.
I just read that the pilot slammed on his brakes, causing the hijacker to fall (he was the only one standing). Then, the passengers swarmed him.
