I am with you dave, have tried them before the ones i bought did not work for me.
tried one for a Ruger P 90 and a P 89 neither worked as it should.I gave them away.
I have mostly DD checkered wood, also have VZ grip, on 10mm. had to sand them down some, so they were not so sharp. also Hogue rubber wraparound on my TCM .
I got my Mak. from my son, back in the late 80s. has been a great shooter, it was a E.German police turn in, made in 1963. it came with 2 mags. a full flapped holster. he paid $89.00 for it while he was in collage, in Kansas.
I have and shoot 6 different RIA pistols, had to send the 10mm. back for service, had it back in two weeks. they have a no BS Lifetime Warranty.
for the price, you get a great gun...:D
If I had a nickel RIA pistol I would treat it very careful, do not use Hopp's #9 on the finish or any other product that has ammonia, it will lift the finish off, next thing I would is buy the rubber wrap around grips with the finger grooves, Hogue, the finish seems to wear off on the font strap...
They don't use glue on guns, what did you use to get the cosmolene off? I hope you know that finish is hard to take care of. be careful what you use to clean the pistol with, after you shoot it.
I think I would like to use the .045 ACP round, it has worked well for a number of years, it may be big and slow, but these folks now days still can't out run it..:D
There are lots of CO. that sell sights for your pistol, I would order a set of sights to fit it. not just the rear. can you measure the height of your front sight? for adj. sights I would want something at the least .180to .190 high.that gives your rear sight some room to move up and down. Look...
I just read a post about the customer service on a warrantied pistol from Metro Arms with a sight problem kind of like yours. he sent in to them in June and had not gotten it back, that was the middle of last month
shoot me a PM and I will give you the link.
