had a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver . he mounted a yugo zrak q d scope mount on it . shoots great . it cost $55 for the work . i paid $169 for the yugo bo m48 mauser unissued ,unfired .

i own an action arms uzi semi , it fires from a closed bolt and will feed any kind of ammo . lots of fun at the range .

star pd 45 summer and winter in a don hume jit beltslide holster

dont forget to take your bolt apart once in a while and clean your firing pin as the corrosive ammo will rust the firing pin . ask me how i know .

i carried in a shoulder holster , the problem you have is a 4 inch barrel is hard to hide in a horizontal shoulder holster. the bianchi x 15 is one of the best vertical holsters made and it doesnt have an x rig shoulder strap . very comfortable holster .

if you would like my opinion , search "star pd45" . im very happy with mine and its my daily carry weapon.

they have them set up in the post office in maryville , tn. they are not metal detecters , but anti shoplifting devices . if it goes off when you come in they wave you in . never seen one go off when someone exited .

for a shooter a yugo mauser should be fine , you can find them for about $150 dollars in good condition .

on the plainfield carbine the parts will interchange with a military carbine . the iver johnson will not .ive had two plainfields and both were reliable, dont know the date of manufacture.

shouldnt there be a lanyard loop on the pistol butt if this is original military ?

colt defender model 90 and a star pd45, not a 1911 but has similar looks and handling.
