P89 was also perfect. I had people drop it on concrete and in the mud and the damn thing never even flinched. Not the most accurate, bad trigger, and heavy. Too bad someone stole it. All for a price of $180.
My XS7 in a .308 is sub moa at 100 yards. That was only the second time I shot with a scoped rifle in my life so I know it wasn't me.
But if its going to be a range gun only I would go with a Savage or Rem. with a nice thick barrel.
Does anyone know where I can find the saftey buttons for a P89 in stock? Most places have told me it will take 60 days to get the parts. Everything still works just a little harder to get the mag out.
The whole damn gun is metal except for the saftey so I would prefer the metal buttons...
Went to go look at a .308 today and must have seen a bad one. The stock looked like it needed to be refit since most of the area around the bolt handle had lost its paint. The Marlin is by far a better looking gun.
I have a Tristar Cobra with a 28" barrel and I am looking to get a shorter barrel so it would be easier to use inside the house. Does anyone know where I can get a 18-20" barrel or get a 28" barrel that I can cut down? That way I have a barrel for the house and one for hunting.
I still may go take a look at it since I have a Dick's 5 minutes away and let you know what I think. I havent messed with rifles much so hopefully they have a few other guns in the price range to compare it to.
I am pretty dead set on an XS7 in a .308 but was just asking. I will not ever get a gun that comes with a cheapo scope since all I'm going to do is take it off.
And yeah that whole blowing the face off doesn't sound any fun.
I still havent had time to go pick one up, but I am 95% certain it will be a .308 since I dont reload. I purchased a pump shotgun about a year ago without even thinking about my shoulder so now I need to get rid of that and get a semi-auto that will help with the recoil. Glad i didn't shoot it...
I agree with going with the Colt Defender, very good gun in a small package. Best of all it is about the size of a Bersa 380.
The Taurus PT-145 is a subcompact gun, not really a compact due to its width. It uses some Heine sights which take a bit getting used to but it holds a decent amount...
