    Thickening thin grips

I've been shopping for a 22 pistol and the one I like the best has all the best features except for the grips. I have large hands and the grips on this gun are just too thin. Replacement wood grips are thicker, but are way too expensive. I'm thinking of customizing the grips by "shaping" them...

Short term storage in soft cases

I was wondering if anyone stores their consistently used guns in a soft case all the time, and what affect that has on the gun. I used to just keep my two guns leaning in a corner in the bedroom, but now the collection is rapidly growing and I'd like to keep the guns protected from scratches and...

    Slug Scope 3-9x40 Buckmaster?

I really don't want to go too far down a road on this post towards alternate scopes. The 3-9x40 buckmaster is on sale at my local sporting goods store, and it seems to me like it should work great. My only worry is the eye relief.

    Slug Scope 3-9x40 Buckmaster?

I'm shopping around for a slug scope for my father in law. He's got some bad eyesight, so a scope is now necessary for him. Plus we're getting him a nice new Savage 220 for Christmas to replace the over under with a bead sight he's been shooting with haha. I've been checking out the nikon...

Benelli M2 - factory camo or black?

I have a really nice Beretta sitting on my used gun rack at work for really cheap, but it has a horrible camo pattern on it so it's been sitting there for a long time, and the previous owner got a horrible price for it. If you're looking for a gun for duck hunting, save yourself the $200 and...

Benelli M2 - factory camo or black?

Camo pattern will wear off physically and socially. Go with the black. It's easier to resell and more durable. Also not necessary for waterfowl as long as you don't wave it around in the air. If you turkey hunt, you can get camo duct tape for that season. Camo patterns are expensive and they go...

What to think about the Savage 212

As far as rings go, they are much more important than the base, get SOLID rings. Avoid millets or anything else that has adjustments on the rings. The slug has a lot more kick than a .223 and if the scope is not properly secured on a slug gun, it will move, scratching that brand new leupold and...

Help dating a Spanish made Richland Arms Co. Model 844

I believe it has an extractor not ejectors. It's a single bar in the middle of the two barrels. I haven't fired it yet, so I don't know. I'm a little confused now. Is it a Lanber Arms 844 imported by Richland Arms from Spain? I really just want to know the year it was made more than anything.

    Is there a breakdown shotgun?

I kept my stoeger condor in my footlocker when I had roommates. Like natman said, all double barrels can be stored in a space as long as the barrel is.

    tactical features in the field?

Wapato said he wanted a shotgun that he would be able to use for clays and hunting, that would also work well for home defense. Is a double barreled 20ga not that gun? It will be the same gun, barrel and all, when it's in the home or in the field, and it can be found for cheaper than a remington...

    Waterfowling side by sides

Oooo I like the sound of that! Always wanted a Beretta too

    tactical features in the field?

Wapato, if the deer is within 15 yards, which they usually are in my state, a bead sight will do just fine, even with rifled slugs in a smooth bore. Just as long as you flatten out the rib when you pull it up.

    tactical features in the field?

An over under with a 26 inch barrel will do just fine as a home defense shotgun, and will be wonderful as a trap, skeet, and wingshooting shotgun. It's only 5 inches longer than the most "tactical" short barreled shotguns, because you don't have the 3 inch receiver. You could get a 20ga instead...
