Home invaders pretend to be police

Thanks for clearing that up. Bottom line is; cops bust down the wrong door and you're there with a gun in your hand, they'll do their damnedest to murder you. Anyone get the feeling the cops enjoy this "shock and awe" crap a little too much? Like 13 year old kids overdosed on Tom Clancey...

Woman Shoots Motorcyclist: "Reasonable" or "Unreasonable?"

A little more light on the matter http://www.wlky.com/news/16645273/detail.html Seems she exited her vehicle to shoot him and then her 15 year old son came out and was kicking and taunting him. Bottom line, she's a savage and needs to be in prison.

Safe gun storage in rented space?

I'm in a rental myself. I have a StackOn gun cabinet in a closet. It's bolted to the studs with lag bolts. A little putty and the landlord will never know it was there. Is it as good as a safe? NO! But at least some crank head can't break in and just walk off with my stuff. Now if I could only...

Gunsmith for old Smith & Wesson

Thanks for the advice everybody. I've been e-mailing various pistolsmiths of note. Mr.Bowen is focusing on package custom stuff right now, but refered me to Brian Cosby. Brian apparently doesn't have e-mail and I haven't had a chance call him yet. Dave Chicoine (oldwestgunsmith.com) is...

Gunsmith for old Smith & Wesson

The rifling has seen better days. No sense in doing everything else and leaving the bore in a marginal state. I'd prefer to go the liner route so the numbers match, plus chopping a good original 1917 barrel seems kind wrong to me.

Gunsmith for old Smith & Wesson

Well I just picked up a bobbed 1917 that needs some TLC. The timing appears slightly off, there's significant movement of the cylinder on the ejector rod when it's open and the barrel could use a reline. I'm not into the gun for a lot of money, so I can afford to spend a bit on it. I'll...

Gunsmith for old Smith & Wesson

Does anyone have a recommendation for a gunsmith that specializes in older (pre WWII) Smith & Wessons??

What the heck is this, and should I buy it???

Went in today and turned my deposit into a purchase. I don't know how I lucked out. I guess the only employee not interested in the gun was the one who put it the case. Several in the shop today mentioned that if they'd seen it first they'd have grabbed it. I'm thinking about sending it to...

What the heck is this, and should I buy it???

Perhaps I should have mentioned. I did put a deposit for the full amount on it. My Momma didn't raise no dummies. :neener: I actually got a call on my way home. It was one of the shop employees offering to buy it off me.:D

What the heck is this, and should I buy it???

Ok. so I went to the range today, and lo an behold there was this odd looking Smith & Wesson .45acp revolver in the consignment case for $100. :what: The flaming bomb on the frame was the first clue; next the girps came off and sure enough, this gun started life as a 1917 Army. The barrel is...

    Gun Store Stereotyping

Guess what kids? Individually and collectively (NRA, etc) we spend a great deal of effort trying to attract new shooters to the sport. Everytime some some jackass redneck gunshop owner/employee pisses all over a prospective customer or new shooter, because they don't like their look; they have...

Lee Disk Kit vs. Lee Charge Bar

I have both. The Charge Bar is very convenient and easy to set up. However, I find it to be less consistent than the discs with flake powders. My theory is the corners of the bar don't get filled consistently each cycle.

    Senseless Tragedy in MN

Yes it does. Like every moron who has a sixer and just has to jump behind the wheel. What these people are saying is, "I really don't care if I kill you, your dog, wife, kid or neighbor. I'm not letting a little thing like the safety of others get in the way of me getting my drink on anytime I...

Now THIS is Activism that pays off immediately - "Gun Buyback Misfires"

Yeah, that was the brain child of Don "Under perpetual FBI investigation" Perata. Apparently he's still trying to dig up money to cover what they paid out. I guess his anti buddies aren't eager to chip in. I thought paying $250 for each gang banger liver brought in would have been more...
