    Friggin' Cabelas.....

You never know when it might suddenly become "illegal" to buy a gun in the the ol' U S of A. There's them that dream about doing that to us. Maybe better buy that puppy while you still can... (just sayin')

Fun finds at the gun show today

I thought he said he traded a .36 and a .44 Colt for the Remmy. Anyway, I like my '51 Navy. Not trading that one!

I just went on the Investarms website, and the picture they showed of the model 210 didn't have double set triggers.

    FFg in a pistol?

Back to the original subject, I can recall having seen a scan of an original instruction sheet for a .44 cal black powder revolver (I think it was an 1860) specifying the use of FF powder. FWIW.

    FFFG in a .50cal?

I tried some FFFG for a while in my .54 cal Lyman when I got a deal on some, but it was already used to FFG and didn't like the change. I tried varying the charge and all that, but nothing helped. With FFG I'd been getting fairly good groups at 100 yards, but with FFFG I was missing the paper...

    I butchered my 1851.

    1851 Front Sight Post Options

If you can determine the size & no of threads per inch, you can get a short length of round wire or rod the right size and thread it yourself with a die.

    Movies featuring blackpowder firearms?

It's been 20 years since I saw it, but I think Dances with Wolves has a scene early on where someone — I'm thinking it was the Kevin Costner character — loads a black powder revolver. They show it close up in glorious detail. The only other scene with loading a bp revolver that I can remember...
