    Mauser HSc in 7.65

Personally, I would leave it at the LGS. With luck, patience & persistence, you can find a better specimen for less. Earlier this year I bought a matching 1942 HSc with original grips, two correct magazines in a repaired holster. Mine has the more common commercial proofs with no military...

Help me pick a new pistol!

dogmush, choosing a pistol is intensely personal; just like choosing a woman to date. Recommendations from others won't matter. It is what floats your goat that matters. Pyro suggested a Zastava CZ999; Same as a Zastava EZ9. I have one of these. It is a SIG 226 knock off with some features not...

    Why 124 grain?

Aren't hollow pointed bullets disallowed on the battlefields according to treaty? FMJ's only?

    The best .45acp ever made

Can't comment on the preference of pistols I never owned, but the best five 45Auto pistols I currently own are as follows; SpringField 1911-A1 SS CZ97B Blued Smith & Wesson 4506-1 SS Sig Sauer P220R FN FNP-45 FDE

    H&K P7s, What's the deal with grade A and B

Damn! Borica9, your "C" grade looks better than my "B"! You are correct about the bluing. Standard Brownells 300 degree bluing did not achieve the dark blue/black finish. The hard slide is more of a dark plum/bronze color. The frame took the darker blue/black just fine.

    H&K P7s, What's the deal with grade A and B

Float Pilot, grade "A" has more original finish than a grade "B". I bought a grade "B" a few years ago that had much holster wear on the slide & frame, plus some minor pitting on the frame near the muzzle and pitting on the outside of the striker collar. There was also a small nick on the...

    Walther PPQ

Thanks for the positive reply SigArms228! :) After just ordering a new Steyr L9-A1, a 22LR version of the PPQ may be just the way to get one of these. The 9mm is scarce & the high price reflects that. I am only interested in the 5" barrel with long slide. I just shoot at paper targets & I...

    Walther PPQ

I am getting an itch for a Walther PPQ 5" barrel model. I see the 9mm is very scarce & is priced over $600 when found. The 22LR version is priced less than $400. Is the 22LR version of the PPQ the same quality as the 9mm version? Both say made in Germany. Isn't the little Walther P22 made...

    Finish or Swedish Lahti

Gotta love Scandinavian firearms. I have yet to obtain any Scandinavian handguns. I can buy five to ten Scandinavian rifles for the price of one handgun. Got Finns, Swedes & one Danish. Gotta get a Lahti.

    Finish or Swedish Lahti

snooperman asked "Anyone have any experience with this pistol? Opinions?" Depends on what you want to spend. I have shot one of each & both performed well at close range. Valmet commercial versions are expensive. Husqvarna versions will cost less. I have only shot the postwar commercial...

    Sig P220 in 10mm

Glad the frame will be stainless steel. I may pursue one when released. The 10mm platform should receive a big boost when these SIG's are released.

    Sig P220 in 10mm

herrwalther, perhaps that is so with double stack magazines, but the 220 is single stack. My 1977 9mm P220 holds 9 rounds in magazine while my later P220 pistols chambered in 45auto hold 8 rounds in magazine. One would speculate the new 10mm 220 would possibly hold 9 or ten rounds. Would depend...

    Sig P220 in 10mm

10mm chambering on an aluminum frame? Is that wise? I can see a polymer framed 10mm from SIG Sauer.
