    Bore Snake scatches Glock Barrel?

Yep, it was a reference to Die Hard 2 as a joke. Sorry, I didn't mean to actually poke fun at the OP's choice of gun. Glocks rock. I also have a Beretta that bends the rounds down the range too. :p I was hoping the porcelain part would've made it obvious though.

Let's have a candid conversation about GLOCKs.

I was a die-hard Glock hater my whole life. Everything about it on paper enraged me, the way it looked, the polymer bits, the striker fire, etc. But then I shot my first Glock, a 21, as a range rental. It was an abused and filthy range slut but it just hit the paper targets like clockwork and...

    Bore Snake scatches Glock Barrel?

Shoulda bought the Glock 7. I hear that porcelain construction costs more than what most of us makes in a month.

Slide release vs. racking the slide back

As I am just a regular peon and not an operator or competition shooter, I use the overhand method as it reinforces muscle memory of tap, rack, banging for any situation.

Which 1911 pistol do you recommend?

Among OP's choices, I'd definitely go with Springfield as well. I unfortunately will join the negative remarks on Kimbers like quite a few others here, as some of the new ones I've seen past few years are just unbelievably sloppy. The tooling marks left over, burrs, and slide to frame mismatches...

    Ed Brown.....should I?

A used Ed Brown or used high end anything is generally a good idea, as there is a great number of people who buy nice toys like this don't use them a whole lot. If you can save 20-30% or more on something that had only 500-1500 rounds through it, it's golden.

    Ed Brown.....should I?

I have a Colt Govt 80 series with the 1* Elite package from Yost-Bonitz, and it is a pretty nifty custom piece of work. I got it used at a killer price and baaarely even broken in and it was my entry into the world of higher end 1911s. Not sure if it was worth the nearly $3k the original owner...

Arming the Neighborhood: What's YOUR plan?

I live in a state, better yet a county, where mass chaos and looting is obligatory for the jerks out here if there's any sort of mass disaster (LA Riots) or if the Lakers win the Championship. Guess what answer I'll be giving to all my bleeding heart friends when their homes are being trashed...

    Rarest gun you own?

SharpsDressedMan - That short rail CZ-75 brings a tear to my eye, it is gorgeous. No wonder you replied to my WTB thread. :o If you ever decide to sell it... ;)

    Rarest gun you own?

I have a S&W 625 Performance Center V-Comp. I've heard the one I have is pretty rare and desirable, but I'll never let go of a .45 ACP wheelgun. Guess I got lucky when I got it off of GB. EDIT: Added photos.

Why Can't I Like Slide Mounted Safties?

Glock 17 or Glock 21SF is my choice, so I'm on the same boat.

    sig p220 vs. kimber 1911

Here's how I'd choose if I could just have one, not regarding price: Earlier Kimber >>> W. German P220 Kimber Series 2 (earlier 2000's models) = German made, milled slide P220 RIA >>> Current MIM railed P220 >>> Current Kimbers Some of the Kimbers manufactured as of late are so badly QC'd I...

Why Can't I Like Slide Mounted Safties?

For me, slide mounted safeties are detrimental during tap, rack, and bang drills. Whenever I practice it on my Beretta 92, I always manage engaging it to safety at least once and I'm left with an empty trigger squeeze. It's definitely not my end of the world zombie gun, let's say.

Difficulty finding a CZ-75 first edition short rail?

Oh dear, I am embarrassed that you read my mind and guessed the EXACT reason I've wanted one for nearly 16 years :D I actually just very recently read the very last volume of Gunsmith Cats Burst just yesterday and again reignited my fire and desire to own one of these babies.
