    .243 or .270?

Check out this site for a very entertaining recoil table. According to this, the .270 recoils like a .308, and the .243 at least 30% less. I vote for the .243, but then I'm a self professed recoil sissy anyways.

Do AR15's need stainless steel mags?

Oops, MY mistake... At a going price of $17.95 each from Magpul, they are about $3 more than a brand new, name brand magazine from a discount place like 44mag.com. But heck, even cooler than these, how 'bout the MagPul "MagLevel Enhanced" magazines? (Pro'lly still made by CProducts)...

Do AR15's need stainless steel mags?

Why does it always have to be one or the other? 6.8 SPC vs. 6.5 Grendel Tacti-cool railed forend vs. traditional handguards Flat-top vs. carry handle... My GOSH man... cain't we all just... get along? If you've got twenty or thirty aluminum USGI mags you've been collecting since your...

    My wife decides to carry....

Well then how 'bout we ALL use the "EDIT" feature on this site to delete our comments and the comments we've quoted rather than just apologizing? Congrats BTW on having a "like minded" wife. The first time my wife came over to my house (when we were dating) and I told her that I liked...

    Auto Assault-12 Shotgun?

You could do up a Saiga shotgun in a similar fashion for not a whole lotta money. Oh yeah, and a semi-auto version of the Glock 18 is called the Glock 17, perfectly available for civilian use and can use the same mags :neener:

AR15: Carbine Length Gas System v. Mid-Length Gas System

I didn't get where Blackhawk was suggesting any such thing. Being the owner of several AR type weapons, I also did NOT take offense to his comments or feel the need to get upset about them. I have three 16" or less ARs... One carbine gas system and two mid-lengths. I like both. I shoot...

Max range for a Sub 2000 in 9mm?

I used this method from the Maryland AR15 Shooter's site to zero my Beretta Storm. It was designed for a 9mm AR, but since the AR, the Storm, and the Sub2K all have very tall irons, It translated just fine. By zeroing at 25 yards, you are taking advantage of the very tall "height over bore"...

    Pistol grip vs. stock

I do not currently have a pistol grip only shotgun, BUT if you ever find you'd like to try one that does NOT hurt like an SOB when fired, check out the Pachmayr pistol grip. I think the sheer weight of it does a lot to tame the kick, but of course being covered in rubber doesn't hurt either...

    Questions about a Kel-Tec Sub2000

As long as the kids aren't left-handed, I think it's a great choice. I have one in .40, but I'm selling it because I'm a leftie. Not all left handed Sub2K owners have experienced this problem, so maybe some do it more than others, or maybe it's the caliber, but I get a face full of hot gas...

    My Glock experience

I really REALLY don't like Glocks. REALLY. In fact, I absolutely cannot stand the Glock 23 I bought to serve as my "canoing" pistol. I hate it so much that I dunk it in water, get it dirty, bang it around on stuff... (I didn't want to scratch my HK  ) I also am appalled at the...

Has anyone heard about the XCR (Robinson Armaments)

OK, since NOBODY else bothered to answer your question in the 20 posts proceeding it... (you know, the ones spent insulting each other, the rifles, the caliber, etc.) I will... You can purchase one of the MANY forends available for the AR15 that range in price from $99 to $399 and everything...

    AR-15 or a Mini 14

Wow, this thread made it all the way to the second page before somebody suggested an SKS :neener: I guess "cheap" is relative... I would definitely call $450 "cheap". I have owned ARs for several years. When my son wanted his "own" rifle, I chose a Mini-14 because it was CHEAP but still...

AR-15s - Armalite vs Bushmaster vs Rock River Arms

I've owned all three. Bushmaster has the best barrels with the most options. You can get TRUE M4, HBAR, fluted, and superlight, 11.5", 14.5", 16", 20", and 24", all chrome lined. RRA only has Bull, HBAR and HBAR with m4 cutout. Chrome lining is available on a couple of barrels, but at...

why the 380 is PLENTY for SD

Huh? Thing is, you just can't "imagine" a scenario and have it actually come down within 100 miles of the real deal if it happened. "Scenarios" are mostly a waste of time. EXCEPT for the "F-U, no F-U... what? you want a piece a me?" bar arguement fights where shooting CAN NOT be...

    We must boycott paypal!

Freezing funds is not cool, no matter what the item. I do not agree with that practice at all. It's true that PayPal doesn't have the greatest reputation. 60 minutes did an entire story on how many people hate their GUTS! BUT, I'm aware of PayPal's rules, and I continue to use them...
