    642 Club Part Three

I just scored 500 rounds of factory 38 special range ammo, for only a song at a fraction of wholesale, and my 642 will be singing that tune real soon at the range!

    Budget pocket gun for saltwater

How about a stainless Charter Arms .38 Spec.? Or better a used S&W. Me, I'd have a chest holster rig.

    The Marlin 39 Club

39a bolt fits. I had to do a little filing. Sometimes they drop right in, others have reported. I got one so I could use high velocity ammo, few years ago, because standard velocity can be hard to locate. There was a good discussion that I initiated over at Leverguns.com a few years ago.

    642 Club Part Three

Well here you go then: Page 20 of the manual that comes with every firearm S&W_Revolver_Manual.pdf WARNING: “STAGING” THE TRIGGER VIOLATES A BASIC RULE OF FIREARM SAFETY WHICH WARNS YOU TO KEEP YOUR FINGER OUT OF THE TRIGGER GUARD UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE THE COMMITMENT TO FIRE. “STAGING”...

    ...breaking decapping pins - why?

LOL I bent TWO pins today, depriming some older Imperial 38-55 brass that had been laying around for decades. Go figure. And yes, I had to apply additional pressure, too. I just knew I needed to back off, but...hey, I screwed up. It must have not been aligned. I'm glad that some spare pins were...

    .41 Mag Association

[/IMG] This M57 and a Marlin 1894CS were left to me, along with a couple Old West Bullet Molds, 230gr and 265gr GC. They were my late father's guns and his molds that he manufactured. Occasionally, my friend that has cattle here on the Central Coast in Santa Cruz, CA, let's me go hunt for...

How is a $120 Remington 11-48 for a starter clays gun?

Remington will send you an ugly poorly scanned manual. Or try here: http://stevespages.com/page7b.htm I think that the friction ring is not reversable, unlike another Remington. I know my 16 ga 11-48 friction ring just fits one way. Mine does not have an o-ring, either. I think some did...

    642 Club Part Deux

So, since this week I'll be paying off the last bit I owe on my new 642-1 no-lock; I started looking through my late father's bullet moulds to see if anything turned up. Well, I found four that may work: Of the four moulds listed below, which are the most suitable for plinking, target practice...

    642 Club Part Deux

Finish care for the Airlite I just bought one without the lock, here on the Central California Coast. I am looking forward to finally firing it in 10 days (our waiting period.) So, what about the finish? I've only read that some of the 642s had flaking problems; not sure if this includes...

I have a Model of 1905, 3rd Change, 32WCF, serial No. 65xxx in very good (95+% original bluing, excellent rifling) that pre-dates the heat treated cylinder that can handle hotter loads. Any good cast lead load data to work up to, and am I safe with the starting loads given in the manuals...

    Chipped Colt SAA frame repair

The loading gate recess on my Colt SAA is chipped at the upper area where the interlocking "step" for the gate is located. Anyone know if this little chip can be built up by welding? I put a reproduction loading gate on, and filed it to fit without the zig-zag interlocking missing chip, for...
